Situated in an elevated position in the village of Kingswear, with stunning views of Dartmouth, the River Dart and the Dart Valley Steam Railway. Our house is a three bedroomed semi-detached house.
The property is accessed from the top of Higher Contour road, where there is roadside parking. There is a footpath and steps down to the house. This offers peace and quiet away from the road with wonderful views.
Only a ten minute walk down hill to the center of the village where you can find a well equipped village shop, as well as a post office, a cafe/bistro for breakfasts , two local pubs serving good beer and food, and also the car or passenger ferry to Dartmouth.
The Steam Railway is next to the ferry which runs trips to Paignton. There are a wide variety of river trips including, The Kingswear Castle paddle steamer. Trips up the river to Totnes and out to the mouth of the river run from Dartmouth as well as fishing trips and a ferry to the Dartmouth Castle.
There is a gradual uphill walk along Higher & Lower Contour Road from the village to the house.
Our house offers a double bed room with views, a twin room, and a small single room to the front. It has one bathroom with bath and shower over.
Bed linen and bath towels are provided. The kitchen is newly fitted and has washer/dryer, microwave, fridge, freezer, electric oven and hob, dining area. The living rooms has large patio doors with juliet balcony with fantastic views. Sofa, two armchairs, smart TV (with BBC iPlayer etc) DVD player, and jack lead connection for music etc, and open log fire. The property now has unlimited broadband connection. Outside the property offers a patio with seating at the side and steps at the back to a large decking area again with those wonderful views of the river.
Dartmouth has a lot to offer with plenty of restaurant, cafes, bars, shops and galleries. There are good transport links by Steam Train or river boat, or bus.
There is the National Trust Greenway House and Coleton Fishacre both within easy reach.
Ideal location for Sailing, river trips, fishing excursions, close to coastal paths, and the Dart Valley Trail. Or just a relaxing retreat, a get-away for some quiet time or watching the world go by.
