About Katie & Dan
We look after this gorgeous family home for the owners and their family who live and work abroad most of the time.
Why Katie & Dan chose Bath
On 3 floors, there is plenty of space to have a bit of privacy if you need it and lots of room downstairs for everyone to be together. A large fully-equipped kitchen leads to a dining room and there is a further living room and a conservatory on the ground floor. This leads to the lovely, large garden.
What makes this House unique
The centre of Bath is a 10 minute walk away and just a 5 minute walk takes you to a selection of small shops, pubs, a pharmacy, a cafe and deli, a barber's a newsagent and grocery shops (including a locally grown veg shop).
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
A gem in Bath
We spent 5 nights in this lovely house with three of our visiting Californian friends. The accommodation is really comfortable, light, airy and spacious, and nicely furnished. We prepared a full meal on the first night, and found everything we needed in the big kitchen. Although the weather was often cool and showery, we felt cosy and warm, with throws and cushions to add to the comfort. Had the weather been better, we would have loved to sit out in the quirky garden, tree laden with apples and several inviting places to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine. There was lots of outdoor lighting for after dark. One day we came back to find a young deer lying under the tree - seemed very at home. The sleeping arrangements are two double rooms, and two single, with the option of an extra fold-up bed in one of these for a 7th person - this should be borne in mind. Two good bathrooms, an en-suite and a downstairs loo, so no queuing up for showers. The main feature for us was the sense of walking into a friendly home, with lots of personal things around - photos, great choice of books, dvds, games etc. - which we loved, and which made the place seem so welcoming. There is parking off road in front of the house, but as the house is on quite a steep hill, and on a bend, this might prove a bit tricky for non-confident drivers. The other important bonus for us was that we could easily walk into the centre of Bath, so no hassle with parking when we went out to eat or explore. We followed several of the recommendations of the owners with regard to eating out, and found all superb - The Circus, The Marlborough, The Green Bird Cafe - and also had a lovely meal at The Locksbrooke Inn, next to the river, a short drive out of town (don't be put off by the industrial units you have to pass to get to it!). The owners responded promptly to queries, and we found them helpful and accommodating with requests. We would definitely recommend this house, and would stay there again ourselves should we go back to continue to get to know Bath.
