Cedar Keys - Nature's Coast.
The fishing and bird watching is great in Cedar Key. Our home has an unsurpassed wilderness view with absolute breathtaking sunsets of the Gulf of Mexico from every room in the house including our large screened-in porch and our outside deck area. The Rye Key gated-community is only two miles from downtown Cedar Key, giving the privacy and easy access only Rye Key can provide. Bald eagles, ospreys, pelicans, hawks and wading birds are just a sample of the bird life seen on any given day from the deck. We have seen over 15 different species of birds while enjoying our morning coffee.
Our two-bedroom, two-bath home includes a king-sized bed in one room and two single beds in the other bedroom. The bedrooms are separated by the great room consisting of the dining, living and kitchen area. The home is furnished in an ocean/tropical theme with a wood burning fireplace and an outdoor gas grill.
The fully electric kitchen includes stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cookware and plenty of utensils. The house has central heat and air, cable, DVD player, VCR, stereo receiver, and telescope. Our side-by-side washer & dryer are located in a separate area from the main room and we have ample covered parking. Downstairs storage area.
Cedar Key has excellent flats fishing for spotted sea trout, redfish, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, and blue fish. How do you catch fish in Cedar Key? Ask us, we have over 30 years of fishing experience in the Cedar Key areas. Other activities in town include: day shopping, excellent restaurants and nature trails. And the local seafood is fantastic.
We are pet friendly.
We have had a lovely relaxing week at your home. Thank you for sharing it with us. The view is fabulous. We've had fun watching the wildlife. Cedar Key is a delightful place and we hope to come back one day.
My husband and I stayed at Eagle View for a getaway over a long weekend. The house is located in a small, secluded gated neighborhood. The house is immaculate, and the area is so quiet and peaceful. We brought our kayaks and left them downstairs under the house for the weekend with no concerns about security. We walked our dogs around the neighborhood but hardly saw anyone else around. We loved having our coffee and breakfast on the screened-in porch in the mornings and grilling out on the deck for dinner. I could sit out there all day and watch the tide roll in and out. Communication with Paula went smoothly, and she was very responsive to our questions. We will definitely stay here again the next time we need to get away from city life. Thank you for the perfect weekend.
My wife and I recently stayed for 5 days at this property on Cedar Key, Florida. Everything about the property was top notch - quiet, beautiful views, comfortable, and very relaxing. Potential visitors will enjoy their stay. We highly recommend.
What a wonderful place! We, unfortunately, were only there for a long weekend, but enjoyed every minute of our stay. The screened porch is wonderful and the view is fantastic. We spent most of our time on the porch enjoying the birds in the area. It is peaceful and quiet. The accommodations are great and everything you might need is provided. Our dogs were perfectly content to be on the porch and/or deck and also enjoyed watching the birds.
Just returned from a ladies' weekend getaway to Cedar Key. Wow! The pictures do NOT do this cozy cottage justice. The views are spectacular. We watched bald eagles, jumping fish, and multiple types of wading birds from the deck. We enjoyed stargazing after dark. You can't see stars like that much anymore. We had an unexpected heat wave, so couldn't use the fireplace...maybe next time! Everything was in working condition, clean and VERY comfortable. We slept great! Spend a late afternoon sunset checking out Cedar Key, enjoying drinks, snacks and chatting with the locals before heading back to our treehouse to relax and cook our dinner on the grill. I hesitate to recommend this fabulous place because I don't want people booking it up if I want to go back! Seriously, it was one of my best HomeAway experiences...
For my birthday this year, I just wanted a place to relax and chill with my husband. Cedar Key and this house was just perfect. It is just as beautiful as the photos suggest. There were so many little details that we loved. The view of course was perfect! I loved the "jumping fish" and all of the birds. The screened in deck and those patio chairs were just awesome. We loved this deck so much that instead of renting a boat to take out on the gulf on Saturday as planned, we spent the day out on Paula's deck. Talk about a lazy and perfect birthday! The bed was very comfortable, the water pressure and hot water were great in the shower, the kitchen was nice, and the living room had a very comfy couch, nice TV (with Direct TV- all the channels for our football viewing) and great view. There were so many touches in the decor that just made you want to relax. I loved the beach and seashells theme. The town of Cedar Key is precious. If you want to go out for a nice dinner (or lunch) there was just enough to do there for a little night life and excitement. We never stayed out for too long though because we wanted to enjoy our relaxing "home" as much as we could. I really can't say enough about this place. Thank you for making my 49th birthday perfect, Paula. We can't wait to come back.
Awesome .... Whooow.... i did stay in this beautiful house. The view is superb, watching birds and the changes in tide.
After searching a while for a hotel in Cedar key I found this and stayed from Friday evening to Sunday. The week before was extreme with long working days during a workshop. Also, several early meetings that started at 4PM to reach out to the my home country (the Netherlands). The rent went very swift and fast and Paula brought the key's to the hotel in which I stayed. I arrived around 6:30PM. Diner in Cedar key, and drove back in a thunderstorm to the house. After a good sleep did do an excellent canoe trip for 5 hours. In the evening did go for diner to Steamers (superb excellent sea food !). Next day relaxed and did read books. The house is equipped with all you need. Next trip to USA for work I will definitely try to stay again !
