CASA CALYPSO: ground floor dining room with sofa bed and a half square; double room with air conditioning (possibility of adding a third single bed); below kitchen with refrigerator hob microwave and crockery; below bathroom with dressing, showers, sanitary and washing machine. From the interior courtyard and exclusive property with a staircase leads to a large terrace (100 square meters) with Mediterranean plants and shrubs with shelter in cannucciato where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. The area is equipped with everything: shops, supermarkets, cinemas, restaurants, pubs, pizzerias, pharmacies, post offices, banks, public transport and private parking 400 m. "We were very pleased wit...

"We were very pleased with the accommodation. We liked the location, in a quiet residential area, half-way between Ortygia and the archeological park and museum and a 10-15 walk to both. It''s also very near to a fabulous Sunday fruit and vegetable market. The house was clean, well-furnished and with a well-equipped kitchen. There is a large and sunny roof terrace. The owners, Daniela & Vito, were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. When we arrived on the airport bus from Catania, they met us at Siracusa bus station, - and they drove us back to pick up the airport bus on our return. They thoughtfully provided a supply of cooking essentials in the kitchen: tea, coffee, pasta, milk, etc - which was much appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and helping to make it a memorable and enjoyable holiday. "

"Daniela and Vito are exc...

"Daniela and Vito are exceptionally kind and helpful owners. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and well equipped with all sorts of extras provided (and much appreciated) such as food in the fridge and toiletries for the bathroom, also a stock of useful basic items in the cupboards (it was great not to have to go out and buy salt for example as we were only there for 4 days). The air conditioning was very welcome too. No problem with noise or with parking outside on the street, and the apartment is well placed so you can reach both Ortigia and the archaological park on foot. Thank you for everything Daniela and Vito (e anche grazie specialmente per le paste di mandorle....erano deliziose e ci piacciono molto)."

"The house was well equip...

"The house was well equipped, with food, drink and all basic provisions and information provided. We very much appreciated this, and Daniela and Vito are thoughtful and most generous hosts. Via Agrigento is well placed for visiting the sites. It is a busy street in a business area, and occasionally noise from the adjoining property made relaxation difficult. Overall a pleasant and memorable stay."

"Di questappartamento e dei proprietari non posso che parlarne bene.La loro ospitalità è stata esemplare. l'appartamento era centralissimo e in una zona caratterizzata dalla massima tranquillità. nella casa abbiamo trovato tutto il necessario, dallo zucchero al sale, fino all'acqua fresca. lo consiglio vivamente."

Big Scam!

The description of the place doesn't fit the reality at all . I rented for a month and moved 10 days before to a different location, I was getting depressed. First, there is no space for 4 persons or an extra bed. The sofa-bed has 90 cm. and the mattress is uncomfortable and old. This room is hardly aired since the only window is the door to the street (as in a commercial site!). The main bedroom has the AC unit and a small window to the "exclusive" patio measuring 1 meter x 2m, with no space for a single chair!. It is on the way to the kitchen and bathroom (the best room of the appartment). The kitchen doesn't have a vitroceramic stove, works with gas and doesn't have an oven or a table with chairs to eat, since the microwave seats on top of the small table. The biggest lie however is the terrace: IT IS A ROOF with no view, no furniture, and an imposible dangerous access: two stories-up of a small iron staircase making it risky to go up with food, drinks and hold your hand to the starcaise, without light all the way up or down. nor on the patio that uses the street light. The area is empty of services and filthy dirty, garbage bags on the corners. NO restaurants, theaters, stores or public transportation, There are two vegetables stores, one fish and meet little stores, and one bodega/convinience store. The supermarket is a 15 minutes walk. It is not a place for more than a couple and for a short period of time, specially if you are claustrophobic. No privacy at all, since the appartment is in a tunnel plant. The TV antenna doesn't work properly either, the refrigerator is 20 to 40 years old. That's all! Be aware!
