1st Time Lake Renter!
We were not disappointed with the amazing views from inside and outside the house. The house was very roomy and clean. Enjoyed the outdoors, kayaking, fishing and relaxing. Saw the adult and young bald eagle, heron and beaver. It was a very pleasant stay, we would definitely stay here again. It would have been nice if there had been two single kayaks so we could have gone off by ourselves.
Excellent week on the lake
This is very well-maintained property. perfect for 3-4 people (couple with kids)
The lake is a quiet gem relatively close to NYC
We received all instructions, directions etc in time from the owners
If you are fisherman make sure that you are OK with kayak fishing. No outside motorboats are allowed. The lake is full of a very good size crappies!
Why 4 stars: Water is the issue, although we were told so. Too much of H2S!
Overall, we enjoyed nearby Stoke Forest preserve, the house, the lake, the dock and kayaking with a fishing pole.
We had a great time at the lake. The kids spent hours on the water - kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. The water was clean, the views were spectacular and we enjoyed our stay immensely. The house has all the amenities needed and we hope to be back.
Loved it-perfect quiet getaway
This place was great for me, because I'm disabled. The property is flat and the water is right outside the door. Ladders on both docks made it easy to get in and out of the lake. I even tried paddleboarding! It's a very quiet lake, so I wouldn't bring a large party here. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. I would definitely book this place again.
We enjoyed it
So relaxing, awesome view, caught so much fish overall would do it over 1000 times
Like A Maine Lake?
We had spent some time on Maine lakes and were wondering how a New Jersey lake would compare with the serenity and beauty we had found there. We picked Lake Owassa because it was small and perhaps quieter than those larger ones - fewer loud powerboats?
Well, we were not disappointed. From the house the view across the lake of the ridge greeted us when we opened the door. The sunsets over the ridge were spectacular! And no fast (loud) powerboats were allowed before noon or after 6.
By the way we found a great Mexican restaurant (Maya Riviera) nearby. Michele was great and easy to deal with. D
