About Admir Selimovic

We are a couple in mid fifties with two groan up children, son 26 and daughter 22 years of age. Originally we are from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina however have been living in England for 20 years. Admir works as a manager for a charity and Nermina is a medical doctor General Practitioner. We both fell in love with Makarska as teenagers as were coming for summer holidays here with our parents. Later on we continue to come as teenagers, during studying and as a married couple as it was very popular holiday destination.

Admir Selimovic purchased this apartment in 2007

Why Admir Selimovic chose Gorinka

We were looking to buy for a while and was quite difficult to find property centrally located. However buying it off plans enabled us to make a few changes. We love open plan living area with lots of natural light and enjoying the view from the both terraces was must to us.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is very close to the city centre, beach, shops and restaurants but at the same time remote from the busy roads and noise.

The apartment may not be suitable for children under five years of age due to open internal staircase. Elderly are welcome, however, there is no lift and the apartment is situated on the 4th floor. Even though we are animal lovers and own a lovely Chocolate Labrador, we regret that pets are not allowed due to pet allergies.

Lovely apartment with great views from the terraces.

  • 5 of 5

So enjoyed our time at Makarska and at the apartment. Really well furnished and maintained. All facilities there including washing machine, sunbeds and chairs.

Second bedroom kept hitting my head on the ceiling.

We were warned and prepared for carrying our luggage up to the fourth floor but needed a drink by the time we made it to the apartment.

Admir was really helpful and sent me lots of brochures and information on he area in advance of our stay and gave us his phone number in case of any queries.

Makarska is such a beautiful place and the apartment, with the backdrop of the mountain behind, views of the sea and the town and the great little restaurants and shops just five minutes walk from the apartment was perfect.

Wonderful holiday in Makarska

  • 5 of 5

We had a really nice week in Makarska. This apartment was just perfect - super view over the downtown to the sea from both livingroom balcony and from rooftop terrace. It was very tidy, beautifully decorated and the kitchen is really well equipped. It was also very convenient to have two separate bathrooms. We arrived with car from Split airport and it was great to use the garage. There are lots of bakerys (pekara) and stores nearby and it's easy to go around by foot. There are beautiful beaches in Makarska, the sea is so amazingly clear. We got a lot of tips and advice from Admir before we arrived. We can highly recommend this apartment and we'll definitely want to come back one day. This was our first visit to Croatia and we all fell completely in love with this beautiful country.

A week in Makarska

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice week in the apartment which overlooks the town. Short walk to town and beaches (10 mins), be aware you are on 4th floor with no lift but if you are reasonably active no problem. Apartment very quiet and comfortable, air con throughout nice lounge and kitchen.

Highlight is the rooftop terrace with lots of furniture, good spot to watch the sunset, swifts and bats.

Really lovely well equipped clean apartment

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed a lovely stay in this lovely well equipped apartment, enjoying lots of time taking in the scenery from the balcony and the lovely sun terrace, stairs up to the apartment were a killer, but it did say in the information that it was on the fourth floor with no lift ! would benefit from a guest book within the apartment explaining where things were and how things worked !!! But overall a lovely stay 😊

the second time at the same place...

  • 5 of 5

Actually we wanted to give not 5 star - because the apartment has earned at least 6.

We spent 3 wonderful weeks here and there was nothing missing.

The apartment is furnished with attention to detail, has a phenomenal view of the town, the sea and the islands,

is quietly and anyway centrally located.

The owners are extremely nice and accommodating.

Again a big thank you for all at Nerma and Admir.

Located beneath the Biokovo Mountain, in the spacious bay with long pebble beaches, Makarska will take your breath away with the freshness of pine forest and crystal clear sea. Since its very beginning due to geographical position, cultural and historical importance the city of Makarska has been the centre of the Croatian micro region Makarsko Primorje. It is situated in a large cove, enclosed by Cape Osejava in the south-east and St. Peter Peninsula from the north-west. The town is amphitheatrically spreading towards the slopes of the Biokovo Mauntain and represents the unique combination of the sea and mountain beauty of the Mediterranean.

The apartment is 60 – 80 minute pleasant drive from Split Airport alongside the pictures coastline. Located back and up from the main road on a beautiful calm residence, is more than a good reason to spend your vacation here. The moment you arrive your senses are assailed by the intensely aromatic fragrances of ethereal quality oils.

Other Activities: athletics, football, basketball.
