The interior area of the villa is 220sqm and consists of two levels with two separate entrances, connected with the pool. At the ground floor there is a large and cozy sitting area, connected with the kitchen. The decoration is simple with antique pieces of furniture combined with modern elements, making the atmosphere very friendly. At the sitting area there is a library with a desk, a satellite TV and Hi-Fi sound system. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances, such as stove, fridge and microwave. The ground floor has two main bedrooms with double beds and separate WCs. In each bedroom there is a TV and A/C, as well as a small dressing room; both rooms exit to the main balcony with the panoramic view. Climbing the wooden stairs, you will find the single bedrooms.
Overall, Villa Galini can accommodate 2-10 people.
Its location, at just 10 minutes away from the airport and the nearest beach as well as its beaty with amazing views towards Aegean sea make the villa an ideal destination for homeaway holidays.
''Villa Galini is a gem; comfortable, spacious, tastefully decorated, very clean and in a quiet area that is still close to a variety of amenities. The owners cannot do enough for you and we were spoiled with gifts of home cooking, fruit and vegetables. Cleaning was regular and thorough. The pool had a good depth though out which was great as we enjoy swimming rather than having a 'leisure' or 'fun' pool, however you would need to closely supervise children who might use the pool and pool area. The gardens are lovely and there is a well planned outside area with translucent wind breaks which ensured that you could sit out at any time of the day and evening. You must visit the taverna in the next village (turn right at the T junction just down the road from the villa on the way into Espikopi itself (landmark is a church at the T junction - turn right there). The taverna is on the right not far down the road. The menu does not have fish, however the the meat dishes are superb and the daily 'specials' excellent, plus the owners are really welcoming. The villa is located only a 15 minute drive from Heraklion airport, but without being on any plane route - so no noise. This is a big bonus. We have been visiting Crete for 9 years now and have stayed mostly much further from the airport and had more driving to do. We found the villa to be excellent value for money and more comfortable than some for which we have paid a lot more money. The only suggestion we would make is perhaps to consider the 2 upstairs twin bedrooms as being for adults as well as children and providing wardrobe space (the two doubles downstairs have great walk in wardrobes) and some air conditioning. Although it is very safe to leave the windows open upstairs and there are good fly screens, some nights are very hot and with little air circulating. The owners immediately supplied a large fan when we asked, which was very helpful. The downstairs bedrooms have air conditioning of course. This area is historical and you will have to travel a bit if you want typical tourist attractions such as water parks, nightclubs, etc however the immediate locality has supermarkets, tavernas, an internet cafe, (the villa has wi fi itself) petrol stations etc and it is very close to Heraklion, which is worth a visit for museums, shops and markets and for a variety of boat trips. We would most certainly return to Villa Galini. Love to Demi who made sure that our stay was great - don't forget to put up a villa sig
Villa Galini exceeded all our expectations - a beautiful and very spacious villa, meticulously maintained by the very welcoming owners. Sitting on the terrace next to our own pool while taking in the amazing view was bliss. The villa is close to the village of Episkopi, up in the hills from Heraklion, a very quiet and 'away-from-it all' location. The village has a couple of small tavernas - one of them also delivers meals to your door which we found very useful - but if you want somewhere more lively then the seaside resorts of Hani Kokkini and Gouves are just a ten minute drive away or you can get into Heraklion in less than half an hour. We were staying with our two children, who loved Water City, just a few minutes' drive away in Anopoli. The Palace of Knossos is about half an hour away and the drive through the villages is very picturesque. The villa is exceptionally well maintained by the owners, who cleaned the pool every other day and cleaned the house and changed the sheets and towels every two to three days. There's enough room for two families if you want to take friends - two double bedrooms, two twin rooms and a single room, plus a large garden and two seating areas on the terrace. We can thoroughly recommend it - you'll love it.
If you’re really into sightseeing, ancient civilizations and archeological findings then you simply must visit Crete! This large island, also known as centre of the Minoan civilization is very popular among tourists for its museums, as well as archeological sites such as Knossos, Phaistos and Gortys. Breathtaking landscape, rich history and amazingly friendly people definitely make this island of the best places to visit in Greece.
