A beautiful villa, the perfect 'Home from Home in the Sun!'. Designed with space in mind, 3 large double bedrooms each having either en-suite bath or shower rooms, a large lounge with panoramic views and Satellite TV. A well appointed large kitchen with views overlooking the valley and private swimming pool. The dining area provides a comfortable dining environment for up to 10 people with direct access to the main veranda and private 8 x 4m. swimming pool. With sun and fun in mind, the villa roof overhangs the veranda to provide over 40 sq. metres of shade from the midday sun. From the veranda you have full views of the valley whilst still being close enough to the pool terrace so that wherever you are, you're together. The gas BBQ is located on the pool terrace next to the veranda making it the centre of attention for those lunch or evening meal times. All this set within over 7,500 M2 of it's own private olive grove. A beautiful peaceful tranquil setting.

Came here for a week for my girlfriends 18th birthday, and obviously our choices were quite limited as you need to be 21 to hire a car in Europe. The owners have an airport pickup and drop off service which was cheaper than a taxi, and that made it so easy for us to get to La Roca. The Villa is beautiful with amazing views and a large pool, as well as English TV for rainy days (even though the weather was great for our stay). If you aren't very active the walk to the shops is a bit of a problem, but overall a great holiday. Equipped with everything you need, we've already recommended to several friends and hope to return soon. Also, the steak at Venta la Parra is amazing! As posted on a major holiday review website!

Just a short Winter stay of 4 days to attend my brother's 80th birthday party but very impressed with the level of attention to detail aimed purely at making visitors feel as at home, safe, comfortable and welcome as possible - and it worked a treat! Too cold to use the pool of course but this was as expected for the time of year. Actually it was probably the most well-equipped rental property we have ever stayed in. Thankyou.

February stay!

Had a super week at La Rocca despite the cold! Understandably the villa is built for heat and sunshine, but it was very cold and windy (at night) week and boy was it cold in the villa! Maybe some rugs on the floor would help. The log fire was very welcome but we had to buy a few bags of logs, and more gas for the gas heaters.

Otherwise the villa was very well equipped and very comfortable. A real home from home!

We'require sorry to hear that it was unseasonably cold at night, we usually leave the rugs out from Dec to Feb which does help a little. Brilliant holiday - we will return!!!

We stayed for 3 weeks last September and had a brilliant time.

The villa is in a perfect spot with complete peace and quiet and all the facilities that you could ask for.

The villa is a short walk from the village centre which is a gorgeous spanish village with a couple of bars and restaurants. This is not a tourist destination which we loved as you really feel like you are abroad!

You can jump in the car and within 10-15 mins there are a number if restaurants to give you more choice and the owners have given some excellent suggestions in the manual at the villa, which we used and agreed with all the comments!

The villa is very clean and has everything that you could want for your holiday and we could not fault a thing.

If you are looking for a busy town with loads to do and see, then this is not for you, as it is a quiet and peaceful location with complete privacy - exactly what we wanted.

With 3 double ensuite bedrooms (2 set as twins) next time we visit (which we plan to asap) we will invite some friends to join us as it would be the perfect place to stay as a group too and then maybe we will make more use of the BBQ on the warm evenings and have a relaxing drinks by the pool!

We would highly recommend La Roca and we are confident that anyone staying here will be really happy and have a brilliant holiday like us!

La Roca - La Wonderful

An amazing site when first arriving at the property. Very clean, tidy and unbelievable views across the hills, mountains and valleys. The property had everything that you needed for your stay - couldn't go short of anything. Spacious property. Outdoor pool - used by us daily and many times during the day - cleaned on a weekly basis as we met the pool cleaner a couple of times during our 10 day stay. if you prefer to sit, read or just enjoy the peacefulness of the area - then you can on the area around the pool. Easy access for site seeing whether that was to the coast or further on into the countryside. We will definitely be going back there

Alcaucin is a chocolate-box pretty village, located 54 kilometres from Malaga and 25 kilometres from the coast at Torre del Mar. At an altitude of 508 metres, Alcaucin is situated on the lower western slope of La Maroma in the Sierra Tejeda mountain range.

An interesting feature of the nearby countryside is an enourmous U-shaped gap in the mountains, known as El Boquete de Zafarraya which can be clearly seen from anywhere at La Roca. A road runs through the gap linking the Provinces of Malaga and Granada.

Also near to the village is the Castle Zalía of Phoenician origin, later used as a fortress by the Moors. The village layout is typically Moorish; the name Alcaucin is derived from the Arabic Al-Cautin (arches). An 18th century parish church, Nuestra Señora del Rosario, stands in the village square.

The Alcázar Nature Reserve and the sulphurous springs of Las Majadas are both found within the municipal area.
