About this property

A New Kind of Philanthropy

BEFORE BOOKING, please note, we have a strict check-in window of 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. This is to ensure your safety because the area has spotty cell service and to ensure that you will be navigating while it is still daylight. A 4WD vehicle is required to access The Lodge. This is necessary because of the bumpy and muddy roads. There is free parking on the property.

Think of the Lodge at Erik’s Ranch as your secluded home away from home—if your home was situated on the edge a private mountain in the heart of Montana, with exceptional views and tucked under a blanket of stars. Luxurious comfort for your group, with a better chance of seeing elk instead of strangers.

Amenities include a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, a living room, a large deck with breathtaking views, an executive dining room, an elegant library with floor-to-ceiling built-in bookcase, a lower-level great room with exquisite couches and chairs to gather around after a day on the trail, a pool table with a massive 15-foot window offering sweeping vistas of Emigrant peak, four guest rooms on the lower level with full ensuite baths, closets, individual outdoor entrances, one master suite on the main level with two luxurious full baths, walk-in closets, access to outdoor deck, and wooden rocking chairs.

Erik's Ranch/Dry Creek rates include lodging and two Erik’s Montana Adventures tours (Chimney Rock and Antelope Butte Hikes). Other Erik’s Montana Adventures tours are available for an additional cost. These include trail rides, a pony lead for younger riders, a horse meet and greet offered year-round, fly fishing, whitewater rafting, and a sunset grizzly excursion. Erik's is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and families.

First class!
What a beautiful secluded property! This place has everything you want if you want peace and quiet. We loved everything about it and will return and recommend. The bonus is the cause and the heart behind the property. First class!!

Beautiful House, but needs updates
Very beautiful house with bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. We had 5 couples (one with 3 children) and a single adult. Everyone was able to have their own space when needed! We loved the large kitchen with eat in table and also the very large dining room area where we could all gather around the table. We were all able to lounge around in the living rooms with space for everyone. However, the property could definitely use some updates. The deck was very rotted out and not maintained at all, which made it difficult with children. A couple of the showers were out of order, their is a limit on the WiFi and you can’t do laundry so if your staying a while plan to bring enough. Overall it was a very good experience. Just some minor updates to the property would make it much better.

Access to Yellowstone
Modern, spacious, comfortable, scenic and tranquil location for access to north entrance of Yellowstone NP. Poor internet access. Experience with reservation system for horseback riding was unsatisfactory.

Concerns
I don’t want to write a scathing review. I have reached out to property owners about very serious issues regarding the ranch. But future renters should know that on our seven day trip we did not have one day where we had all utilities (power, gas, water).

Quiet, remote, great place to stay
A beautiful home, just right for our family. A bit off the road! Loved it though. Jonah & his staff were great. Thank you so much for being so kind. My family loved it

Kathryn Nordberg is Founder and CEO, Erik’s Ranch & Retreats, Inc.

Kathryn Nordberg has held executive positions with organizations in technology, packaged goods and health care. She is recognized for innovative solutions to long-standing operational challenges and her ability to create positive outcomes for long-term projects with multimillion-dollar budgets. She has leadership experience in strategic and organizational planning, management, marketing, partnership development and alliances, sales, new product development and communications.

Nordberg also has an adult son with autism. She became the founding chairperson of Families for Early Autism Treatment in 1995 when no funding or early intervention programs were available in Minnesota. In 1997, she participated in bringing behavioral therapist Ivar Lovaas to Minnesota to share his Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for early intervention with children with autism. She also challenged the Minneapolis public school system status quo, creating awareness about the lack of efficacy of its program for children with autism, laying the groundwork for the assistance available for families desiring ABA.

With Nordberg’s experience as the foundation for Erik’s Retreat, we understand the need for individual choices and how to support that. Through professionally trained staff, careful planning and communication with residents, members, and families, and the employment of innovation in everything we do, we believe that living a life of promise is within everyone’s reach. “I believe that if I can imagine it, we can achieve it.”

Why they chose this property

Erik’s Ranch is a nonprofit organization that offers upscale lodging run by young adults with autism. They are tour guides, sous chefs, ski instructors, horse groomers, and more. All for whom meaningful careers are scarce.

You are part of the solution.

When you stay with us, you’ll be in a beautiful house just 45 minutes from Yellowstone while providing living accommodations, social opportunities, and significant work for our members.

Welcome to Erik's Ranch. Where vision knows no bounds.
