Great house and location. Easy to get to London.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Token Yard in Putney! The house is beautiful, spacious, clean, quiet and safe. It is in a great area that is walking distance to everything you could possibly need (shopping and restaurants) during your stay. Only a 5 minute walk to the Putney train station and a short ride to London. Barbara also gave some great recommendations on various buses to take if you prefer those over the train or tube. Highly recommend getting an Oyster card, which we used for the trains, tubes and buses. There are a number of restaurants to enjoy delicious meals. The grocery store is conveniently located about half way between the house and train station, so it's easy to stock up on items to prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen.

We called Barbara as soon as we were ready to leave Gatwick and she gave us great directions to get the train, even telling us the correct platform we needed. She met us at the house when we arrived and gave us a very helpful walk-thru of the house and appliances.

Highly recommend this property, and would love to stay here again if we are fortunate enough to return to London!

Brilliant location, lovely little house

  • 4 of 5

We loved Token Yard, it's brilliantly situated between two tube stations (Putney Bridge and East Putney) and the Putney National Rail station - plus any number of buses. Pretty much everything you need locally is only minutes away - supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, the river. The house itself is charming, clean, comfortable and a perfect haven to come home to. The only reason we didn't give it five stars was it was a little noisy with the comings and goings of residents in the apartment block in front of the house (the door bangs very loudly and often) and there was a strange smell around the front door which was noticed at check in but not followed up on - and it stayed with us the whole week. Once inside the house the smell was less noticeable, but still lingered. Hopefully this has since been addressed. Otherwise, a great place to stay when in London if you want to get out and about.

Very quiet and comfortable apartment, plenty of room for 5, very close to the high street shops.

Great position, suited our 5 people very well. Short walk to shops, transport and the Thames.

Barbara was very helpfull as we wanted to check in and out a bit earlier than normal.

Apartment was warm and comfortable even thought the english winter was cold as expected.

Oasis in Putney

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Token Yard. It is surprisingly quiet despite being just off Putney High Street, and is a perfect base for a family visiting London, with underground and overground only a 5 minute walk away. Our 3 adult children loved the house, location and easy access to transport. Supermarkets and shops are a minute away with plenty of pub and restaurant options. The Coach and Badge is a local favourite. There are riverside walks, and the charming Fulham Palace is just over Putney Bridge. The house is well laid out and spacious enough for a family of 5, with a master bedroom and en suite on the top floor. The house was in good condition, and well cleaned. A few more kitchen utensils might be nice! Overall highly recommended.

Spacious, comfortable house, great location!!!

  • 5 of 5

After having difficulty ticking the boxes of finding a house or flat not too small, not too expensive and within a reasonable distance (not to mention in a safe area) of central London, we found Token Yard. Staying for a week, the house was more than adequate for a family of 4, with two double bedrooms (one on 2nd floor) and a single bedroom. With the 2 bathrooms and single toilet, we didn't have the lack of facilities we normally have at home! Fast Wifi, very clean and, as previous reviews have said, basic essentials were provided on arrival which was very much appreciated! All amenities and shops were directly outside which, when you come from a village, is a welcome change. Disappointed we didn't try the Eight Bells, as mentioned by previous reviewer, but we did go to Il Mascalpone, Bill's and Wetherspoons within the Putney area, the latter being quite reasonably priced. We would recommend Fulham Palace and park as a place to visit, being located just over the bridge, great views and lots of friendly squirrels! From Putney Bridge station on the District Line, you can be in central London within 20 minutes. Finally, Barbara was fantastic, meeting us on arrival and departure with no problems and was very helpful. Would fully recommend and would definitely return!!!
