Easy in and out to central London and a nice place to land at the end of the day of tourist activity. Would stay here again!! Nice town with everything you need at your doorstep.

Spacious, comfortable house, great location!!!

  • 5 of 5

After having difficulty ticking the boxes of finding a house or flat not too small, not too expensive and within a reasonable distance (not to mention in a safe area) of central London, we found Token Yard. Staying for a week, the house was more than adequate for a family of 4, with two double bedrooms (one on 2nd floor) and a single bedroom. With the 2 bathrooms and single toilet, we didn't have the lack of facilities we normally have at home! Fast Wifi, very clean and, as previous reviews have said, basic essentials were provided on arrival which was very much appreciated! All amenities and shops were directly outside which, when you come from a village, is a welcome change. Disappointed we didn't try the Eight Bells, as mentioned by previous reviewer, but we did go to Il Mascalpone, Bill's and Wetherspoons within the Putney area, the latter being quite reasonably priced. We would recommend Fulham Palace and park as a place to visit, being located just over the bridge, great views and lots of friendly squirrels! From Putney Bridge station on the District Line, you can be in central London within 20 minutes. Finally, Barbara was fantastic, meeting us on arrival and departure with no problems and was very helpful. Would fully recommend and would definitely return!!!

Comfortable, convenient, and cozy

  • 4 of 5

An excellent flat and I basically agree with other reviews previously posted. Myself and 3 friends were all quite comfortable and found the 3-leveled flat to provide plenty of space for everyone to spread out. While the several flights of stairs may be a deterent to those with physical limitations, it did provide privacy & being able-bodied yound adults, we did not enounter any difficulty with this. Additionally, each floor had a bathroom which was hightly convenient (though the street level was only a toliet/sink). Pretty much everything we could need was provided: washer/dryer, hair dryer, clothes drying rack, iron, all the amenities one would need in a kitchen as well as some basic condiments, spices, tea and coffee left by prior occupants and owners. We similarily "paid it forward" by leaving some food staples behind. Every bathroom had toliet paper and hand soap but if either ran out during your stay, you were responsible for topping them off. We did bring our own paper towels and clothes washing detergent though there was a bit left over from prior visitors too.

The location was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the quaintness of Putney - only about a 25 min Tube ride to most major sites yet when you returned, it was like "coming home". We were not bothered by any street noise even though there were tons of stores, shops, food stores etc literally right outside the front door and anything you could need was readily available. The pub "The Eight Bells" located near the "Putney Bridge" Tube stop is a great local which is worth visiting: fantastic & filling 7.95 pound meals served between 6-9pm.

While two Tube stops are nearby to access the flat (East Putney & Putney Bridge), process of elimination found Putney Bridge to be easier to access, esp with luggage, as most of the walk was via the bridge over the Thames with limited pedesterians. This was not the case if one departed by East Putney as the sidewalk was often occupied with numerous shoppers. Note the directions to the entrance mew state to look for "The Body Shop" store but this has since been taken over by "Aveda", in case one gets confused and perhaps the directions need to be updated to reflect this change.

Tip: consider the commuter "Thames Clipper" boat as a fun way to see the city. Putney pier is literally a 5 min walk but note it only runs M-F during commuter hours but at 8.20 pounds, you can get all the way to Greenwich.

Would stay here again on future visits to London!

Good Value For Large Clean Family Accommodation in London

  • 5 of 5

The property is in Putney, close enough to easily travel anywhere in London by Tube, but far enough away that you feel like you're going home for the night. There are 3 grocery stores less than 5 minutes away on foot, and there are restaurants everywhere. The Putney rail station is a 5 minute walk away, and there are 2 tube stations less than 10 minutes away. In short, you have everything close by.

The price is very good for a property that easily sleeps 5 adults. There are 2.5 baths, which made it very easy for our family of 2 middle-age adults and 3 20-somethings to get ready in the morning and clean up at night. The kitchen had everything we needed and the wifi was good.

The apartment was very clean and had all the features we needed. No issues on arrival, although we should have phoned Barb as soon as we arrived as she was waiting for us (sorry!).

Home away from home

  • 4 of 5

Plenty of space, fantastic location. Spoilt for choice of ways to get into London to see the sights. Owner made us feel welcome and provided a few supplies to get us up and running. This was very much appreciated after a very long flight with tired teenagers. Supermarkets across the road and up the street. Putney is a great area with everything you need close to hand. Would recommend this property to people who are looking to stay in a real home.

A wonderful stay at Token Yard

  • 5 of 5

We just recently stayed at this wonderful property just off the Putney High Street about two weeks ago. My sister and I had flown in from Malaysia and we were looking for a safe and comfortable apartment which would accommodate us including our two teenage daughters who were on their half term break. We were definitely not disappointed. The apartment was clean and fully equipped. Barbara was there to greet us and she thoughtfully brought in some fresh bread, milk and other sundries which was very nice. The location was also wonderful and so close... no exaggeration to high street shops much to the delight of our teenage daughters. Putney also has some lovely restaurants and Pubs too. All in all, I would definitely stay at 1 Token Yard again. It is really a great place to stay.
