Flexible CHANGE-OVER days outside high season. Very well-equipped, unique ground-floor apartment (end of the building). Private large, secluded garden with flowers, shrubs and very large fully furnished patio with awning, sunbeds, chairs and tables. Easy wheel-chair access. Average-sized pool (shared with only 9 other flats) with open aspect. We are on a short, quiet road in a 'villas-only' zone of this unspoilt, select fishing village. Many sandy beaches in country areas within easy reach. 8 Holidaymakers' favourable reviews. Carvoeiro is many people's favourite Algarve resort, and our apartment is really unique in its garden and 3 patios, its ideal location so close to the attractive beach, and its comfortable furniture, which we chose in the 3 years when we actually lived there. The bedrooms do not adjoin!

We bought this apartment for our own use when it was newly built, because it was unique in having its own private garden, placed in a quiet location, yet close to all amenities. Access to the garden is via French windows from each of the 3 main rooms.
Private, well-stocked garden. Peaceful, as well as attractive location, yet 5 minutes walking distance from sandy beach, lively square, all restaurants, bars and shops. No need to hire a car.
A very spacious apartment which is very well equipped. A lovely large garden with plenty of sunny and shaded areas. The location is ideal for the town and beach, we will definitely be recommending the apartment to family and friends. Carvoeiro is a beautiful town with loads of very good quality restaurants, our favourites included Le Cro, Tapas Iberica, Primavera, Wolf Bar & Grill. With fabulous cliff walks to gorgeous coves, beautiful sunsets..... We can't wait to return.

A really lovely apartment (with a garden area much bigger than the photo suggests) 2 mins from Algar Seco - with fantastic walks and fabulous views to the sea.

The three of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vilas Do Mar and found the apartment located in quiet and well kept area. The privacy of the garden is also excellent and relaxing. The apartment is located within a 5 minute short walk to Carvoeiro and the beautiful board walk on the cliff tops in the opposite direction which is just stunning. It was a pleasure and a relief to find everything just as described by the owners who were extremely helpful and easy to deal with so thank you Tessa and Malcolm but most of all Thank You for a lovely stay.
We had a lovely stay in Monte Dourado. It's perfectly positioned for peace and relaxation whilst being only a short walk from the centre of town. The coastline walk down to Carvoeiro is spectacular and if you get the chance walk across the bridge, continue a little further and discover the little gem that is Boneco Bar.
Tessa and Malcolm the owners always ensure that the apartment is very clean and well presented. They really go the extra mile to ensure you have all the information and home comforts that you need. The garden is a lovely size and a little sun trap. Get a good book and put your feet up and make sure you get out and about in the car to explore the amazing beaches that are all easily reached from base camp.
Can't wait to go back again.
My partner and I have stayed at Vilas do Mar on several occasions and find it a perfect base from which to enjoy all that the Algarve has to offer.
The apartment is spacious, airy and clean, with a very comfy bed and a pleasant living/dining area. The private garden is a highlight; attractive, well maintained and secluded, it is perfect for lazy lunches and reading on the sun loungers.
Pretty Carvoeiro beach is a five-minute stroll away, and many more rugged and secluded beaches can easily be reached by car (or a cliff-top walk). A boat trip to see intriguing caves and rock formations is recommended.
If you don't want to cook there are many restaurants a short stroll from the property - our current favourites are Vimar, Happys and Chef Antonio.
Although a car is not essential, hiring one makes it easy to explore along the uncrowded roads, either inland to Moorish Silves (15 minutes) and the beautiful and mountainous Monchique (less than an hour), or further afield to the wild and wonderful beaches of the west coast.
CLIMATE: Perfect in winter and summer.
AREA: very peaceful,a villas-only zone of an unspoilt, select yet lively, fishing-village with a stunningly beautiful bay and sandy beach (5 min walk) and long scenic cliff-top nature-reserve walks (1 min) such as ALGAR.SECO beautyspot. The central area, has plenty of amenities , bars, restaurants etc, open all year.The lively main square has music on stage for dancing. There are many more sandy beaches in wild country-side among scenic cliffs.Beyond are other beach resorts plus charming unspoilt old towns and villages,:notably Silves. the ancient Arab capital:don't miss the impressive Castle with Palace ruins, Monchique Mountains and Europe's lands-end, Cape St Vincent ,all with good bus services.
SPORTS:: Tennis Club with fitness gym. Many local golf-courses. 1 mile 18-hole courses,or a 9-hole course,.2 other 18-hole ones are 5 miles away
