This spacious 240 m2 architect-designed house is furnished to a high standard with several original art pieces. It lies in peaceful wooded surroundings of 10,000 sq metres, and is reached at the end of a private road in a lotissement, where you will find beautiful woodland and canal side walks. The property has extensive terracing and its own gardens, including an 11m x 5.5m salt water system mosaic tiled swimming pool.

Arriving through the entrance hall complete with grand piano, you will admire the beautiful views towards the Esterel Mountains to the South West. The property is an ideal base for a holiday exploring the Cote D'Azur and Provence, with the famous Mougins Village a few minutes drive away.

External Location & Facilities: The property is in an exclusive and secluded situation at the end of a private road, and is accessed through secure electronically operated gates. The property is not overlooked by other villas and lies within its own grounds with ample parking at the rear for many vehicles. The forest area around the villa is owned but there is a more secure set of gardens that are tended by a gardener and also included the salt water swimming pool and extensive terracing of over 130 sq metres. The pool is looked after by a specialist pool company who will visit once a week to perform cleaning and maintenance.

The villa is equipped with top of the range bbq, as well as lots of external garden furniture for your enjoyment, and shady pergolas to linger under. The garden contains many exotic plants from banana palms, vines, orange & lemon trees to pines, olive & fig trees. There is a babyfoot table under its own terraced roof, as well as table tennis and the villa comes with other games for all to enjoy.

Internal Layout & Facilities: The property is spacious with high ceilings (reaching 6m in the living area), with wide corridors and stairs. The entrance hall contains a grand piano, and is on the same level as the upper bedrooms with their own loggia and access to the garden. Upstairs there is a contemporary bathroom to complement the ensuite shower rooms, and separate toilets.

The bedrooms are all air conditioned.. The sleeping arrangements would work well for two families or groups, with a double and twin upstairs together with 2 showers, 2 toilets and a separate bathroom. Each upper bedroom accesses an upper loggia which means the outside can be accessed directly including access to the pool by the upper terrace staircase. Linen & towels included.

The downstairs sleeping features a room with 2 singles, and shower ideal for children/teenagers and a master bedroom suite, which includes a Japanese bathroom, shower and separate area. There is also a baby cot/high chairs available. There is a separate study/playroom with its own oval wooden terrace area.

Inside the living area is open plan and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped with two sink areas, a long bar and top of the range appliances. These include Miele ovens, including steam oven, plates warmer, microwave, Nespresso machine, mixing machine, toaster, induction plaque and extractor fan, dishwasher, 2 fridges, freezer unit. Just off the kitchen is a separate laundry with washing machine, tumble dryer etc. The dining area has 8 chairs and there is also a separate additional table, if you choose to eat inside. The main living has 2 leather sofas, and TV.

The hall contains a grand piano, with spectacular view across to Pegomas, and leads out onto the upper terraces. Downstairs there is a separate study with its own terrace.

Open Living & Dining: The living area is spacious and open plan with living, dining area, bar and kitchen all working together. This area in the summer can be accessed through large sliding internal doors which recess into the walls, making the whole space connect with the exterior gardens & terracing.

The kitchen is state of the art with a separate bar area, and it connects to a separate dining area and onto large terraces for alfresco dining/lounging. The large terrace will comfortably seat 12 people under the pergola for summer dining. The kitchen is finished with red granite work surfaces and equipped with top of the range appliances/culinary aids for budding chefs. There are 2 fridges, fridge freezers, dishwashers, oven and steam oven, microwave, coffee machines, kettle, toaster, etc.. In terms of laundry there is washing machine, dryer etc.

Why Nathalie M. chose Cannes - Grasse - Antibes

We do also live here sporadically, but let it out for selected weeks. It is a modern contemporary villa, with open plan living that everyone who goes there loves. It is tucked away in forest, yet so close to amenities, the coast and many great holiday places.

What makes this villa unique

Having designed and built the house, it is the way we wanted a villa. Private & secluded, stunning views, alfresco living, great pool and safe for children & family. There are many lovely villas in Mougins, but we wouldn't swop..

  • The master bedroom has a Japanese bathroom en suite with wet area - so a Japanese style bath (deeper and shorter than normal baths) in teak and tiles and separate walk in shower. There is a dry area with Villeroy and Boch Nagano basin, furniture and mirror. All other bedrooms have en suite showers and wash basins. Toilets are external to rooms. The upstairs bathroom has partitioned toilet, and Villeroy & Boch bath with shower, and separate large sink, metallic mosaic tiles.

All four bedrooms with air conditioning. Very well equipped double kitchen with 2 sinks area and with own work surface & bins. Large terraces all around the bedrooms, study & living room/kitchen area with lovely views. All South facing. Sun from morning to evening.

Amazing place, great vacations

We enjoyed this house and the location. It is calm, the view is great (sunset garanteed), the design of the house, the confort and the taste of everything inside and outside. The garden and the swimming pool are great. The neighbors are far away and it is not a problem to have late dinner on the terrasse with friends and children.

Mougins is a beautiful village and there is so much to see around

The maintenance of the property, the quality of the kitchen appliances, the bed confort, the service provided and the environment were at the top

We will probably come back next year.

Beautiful Villa

A very beautiful villa in a lovely location. Everything was as described-very private- wonderful extras we enjoyed were the grand piano (which they had tuned for us), the baby foot (table football), table tennis, and the Japanese tub. Beautiful garden, pool and view. Very important-the owners were always available and so kind and helpful along with their housekeeper -also very kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

Wonderful house, great location for sea & mountain

Having had 10 days in Villa Canelle, we'd like another 10. Nigel and Nathalie have put together a wonderful house combining the practicalities and hi-tech of modern living with some unique designer touches (red granite kitchen tops, Japanese bath - awesome) and amazing open indoor and outdoor space.

We love Antibes and especially its market (though other visitors seem to claim Cannes wins there) and had a wonderful day climbing down the rocks to an almost private cove just past Theoule-sur-Mer. Lots of arty stuff - from famous (Matisse, Picasso etc) to some really quite good local art as close as Mougins. Check out the local restaurants at Mouans-Sartoux - walkable and lower priced than the tourist destinations. Liberal use of google maps means you can run to the hills - via the canal - in about 10 mins. Then you can find some challenging ascent if that's your thing.

We ate outside almost every evening (in September) - the open doors/windows make it super-easy. Best road trip was to Vence (Matisse Chapelle du Rosaire) via Tourettes-sur-Loup during which we also came across lovely Valbonne. A gem of a town and market.

Overall - highly recommended and thank you to Nigel and Nathalie - you have a beautiful home in a wonderful place.

Another fantastic week in this beautiful Villa!

If you want to find a villa in the South of France that is modern, comfortable, quiet and very well equipped then I bet you don't find anywhere better than this.

We came back for the second year running and loved it. The beds are really comfy (plus there is quiet, efficient aircon in all the bedrooms), everywhere is spotlessly clean, the pool (salt water not chlorine) is great, all the electrical stuff works, there is table tennis and table football. Plus the Weber BBQ is fab. Last but not least, the owners are a pleasure to deal with - thanks again Nigel and Natahlie!

A wonderful house!

A wonderful house in great surroundings! The description of the house is accurate, the property is clean and it is well maintained. The owners are very keen to help with any information you might need. The garden is lush and the pool is very nice. There is a nice long walk along a canal just by the house which is a big plus if you like running. We (six persons) spent two great weeks here and we all could indeed recommend the house others.

Situated near the famous hill-top village of Mougins, this secluded contemporary villa is nestled at the top of a beautiful wooded valley just below the Canal de la Siagne, providing local canal side walks/jogging straight from your door. You are between Cannes and Grasse - 15 minutes drive from the sea or from the world’s perfume capital - so perfectly placed for a varied holiday between the bustling riveria and its attractions, and the calm & charm of the Provence countryside.

Sporting activities are plentiful, from tennis to sailing to the nearby (3minutes!) celebrated Royal Mougins Golf Club. For the cultural, famous art galleries, including Picasso and Matisse are in the vicinity. Families will enjoy the beaches, Marineland at Antibes, local cinemas and the Cannes International firework festival every two weeks in the summer. Provence and the Esterel mountains provide fantastic walks and you are just 25 minutes from Nice Airport. You will wish you had booked longer.

Golf: Spoiled with choice.

Ski: Fantastic skiing just 1 hour from the house in Gréolières les Neige, Valberg, Isola 2000, Auron and nearby Limone in Italia near Tende.
