Why Cassie Bills chose Travis Heights
Convenient and centrally located, the Art Barn offers the best there is to offer with it's panache and modern conveniences. The Art Barn allows you to live like a local in one of the best neighborhoods in Austin. Historically, the Art Barn was originally a 3-horse carriage house for the 1890 victorian house on Park Lane. Today, the Art Barn is a perfect example of harmony between old and new; convenient urban living and private oasis.
What makes this Cottage unique
Every design element has been thoughtfully considered - from the floor to ceiling windows opening onto the private patio, luxurious bedding and linen, fully equipped kitchen and architectural outside elements. The living "Before I die...." art installation is an Austin landmark and forms one of the exterior walls of the Art Barn. The closeness to the neighborhood SoCo is a wonderful benefit.

Cozy Cottage in Excellent Location
My husband and I loved our stay in the cottage. It was in a perfect location. We were able to walk to all of the eateries we wanted to try on South Congress, to the bridge to watch the bats and to HEB Grocery store. We would definitely stay at the Aer Barn again.
Perfect getaway spot!
What a wonderful serene spot in the heart of Austin! Excellent location- walk to South Congress shops and restaurants and downtown Austin. We really enjoyed our stay and Cassie was so accommodating and hospitable. She thought of everything! We loved the robes and snacks/breakfast items she provided. It was a perfect anniversary getaway for us. Thank you!
Beautiful & Peaceful
We had a great experience. Relaxed atmosphere and most importantly an amazing hospitable owner. We will definitely look for this place rather than a typical hotel. Thank you Cassie.
A Small Paradise
Thank you Very Very much for the opportunity to get away and sample Heaven.
Perfect Hideaway in Austin!
We stayed two nights at the Art Barn and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The guest house was "throw-a-rock" close to all the cool stuff happening on So Congress but was a private refuge with an amazing hammock and swaying bamboo around the patio where you could relax when needed. And Cassie, the owner, was amazingly helpful and thought of everything. I've never seen a guest house so well-outfitted. She said she stocks it with everything she loves and it shows. We had great coffee (with dairy AND coconut creamers to choose from), lovely fresh fruit and yogurt with granola, mineral waters, hummus and chips, etc. etc. Linens were all high-quality and the bed was super comfy. Will be back next time we are in Austin. Thanks, Cassie!
Super location for fun on South Congress
This was our second time to visit the Art Barn and it was as splendid as ever. It's quiet and private. The space is well laid out and provides for all your needs. The bed is super comfy. There are both indoor and outdoor places to relax. The compact kitchenette worked wonderfully. I cannot wait to stay again. It's the perfect place to stay for experiencing all the Austin has to offer
Popular South Congress Avenue is located two blocks away, with it's live music, artisans, restaurants, bars and great shopping. Easy to rent Car2Go and B-Cycles make downtown Austin and Zilker Park (the location of Austin City Limits festival) readily assessable. The University of Texas is located 3.5 miles to the north and St. Edward's is 1.8 miles to the south. Be in the center of it all!
