Escape to a recently renovated country cottage in a quiet corner of Anglesey

Bedrooms 3
Separate WC's1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 5 nights

About the property

3 bedroom, two bathroom Sleeps 8 Cottage with rural views close to the beach

Neuadd Cottage has three double bedrooms, one with en-suite,(2nd floor) one with flexibility to become a twin room, or double depending on your requirements, and the third is also a comfortable double room. There is also a family shower room on the 1st floor.

Downstairs there is a large through lounge with log burner (for those cosy nights) two sofas (one of which converts to a comfortable double bed), and double doors our onto the large patio area and garden beyond. There is a cloakroom and separate wc leading off in one direction, whilst the other side leads into a large kitchen diner, again with double doors leading out onto the patio area.

There is plenty of parking to the front, and a sun trap rear patio and garden which is perfect for watching the stunning sunsets.

The Cottage is situated down our small lane and adjoins our property so we are always on hand should you need any help or advice. If you don't need us that's fine too, you are here to enjoy the scenery, peace, quiet and privacy. We are in a very rural spot, with just a handful of neighbours. The nearest Village is Cemaes Bay where there are all the usual amenities, pubs, shops including Chemist, McColls, Butchers, cafe that sells home made cakes and Ice cream and a fish and chip shop.

Cemlyn Bay has a lagoon at the back of the cove where Arctic terns come to breed. There are a few other terns that also visit along with a wealth of other birds, butterflies and other insects. It is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is operated by the National Trust. There is no commercial offerings here, it is completely unspoilt and is a haven for bird watchers and general natural lovers alike. Seals are regular visitors and if you are really lucky, Porpoises may be seen too.

The cove is also popular with Kayakers and the odd fisherman can be seen on occasion.

We are happy to accept Pets under certain conditions, please ask for further details.

If you are looking for a retreat in the country where nature is all around you, come and join us in our little Paradise.

About Wendy

Born originally in Wales, I have spent a lot of time living in various parts of England and now am finally back. I love it! We have spent the last 3 years renovating the old farmhouse we live in, and now have just completed the Cottage next door. Willerby (the Caravan) was where I lived for the first 7 months during the early renovations( End of Dec - July 2014)!! is also available to rent.

I have always had a passion for wildlife, especially birds and am hugely fortunate in where we now live having so much on the doorstep.

Walking is another hobby although its been a while since I have gone further than the beach, purely for lack of time. There is so much to have a go at here, I will get to it...

I also love Art, and again, all through my life when time has permitted, I have had a dabble at doing the odd picture. I am hoping when I eventually retire, this will become my main focus. I am just in the process of setting up a studio in the garden beyond the veg plot, hopefully to become productive this summer.

We have a large garden here so fortunately I enjoy being outside. Last year has been the first with the veggie plot 'up and running' with mixed results but as a very good friend of mine says 'it was only your first year'! Wonder how many 'years' before I am getting the amount of veg she is??

Finally, now back in the home Country, I can't remember much of the language so have join Uni at Bangor. First exam under my belt, and the understanding is very much there, although the speech needs more effort. As part of that, I joined the Welsh Learners choir (something I haven't done since school) and was part of the group who won our class at the Eisteddfod 2015. Even got on the telly! We are entering again this year 2017 wish us luck!!

Why Wendy chose Amlwch

This area embraces you with its peace and quiet. If you are a nature lover then your will fall in love with it here. The sunsets are breath taking and the photos never really do them justice!

The bird life that we are favoured with is amazing. I'e seen more birds here than I ever have anywhere before and I have been a RSPB member since I was 7. Having lived most of my life away from the sea, I'm still learning what some of them are but to sit in bed and listen to Little Owls as you go to sleep, and wake up to a field full of Curlews gives you a small snapshot of the paradise that is waiting for you in Cemlyn!

The grandchildren love the beach, especially the West side where all the shells are. There is so much to see and they love learning about the things around us. Its a treat when they see the seals but they have yet to be around to see the porpoises.

If you want somewhere to retreat to and re-charge your batteries, I have to warn you when you get here, don't over plan your time. Frequently we have had visitors come and stay and we don't really see much of them for the first day or so... we all blame the sea air to be polite :)

We had an amazing time in Anglesey. The cottage was cosy and perfect for our needs.

Mary our host was very hospitable & ensured we had the basics on arrival so we did not need to worry about breakfast & tea & coffee. The cottage was very clean & has a lovely fire & good cooking facilities. It's in a stunning area surrounded by fields & near to several beaches. You can go on beautiful coastal walks & also eat in lovely local pubs & hotels.
