There is a separate, spacious kitchen/diner with modern, new kitchen including granite worktops, dishwasher, large fridge freezer, 4-ring electric hob and oven etc. The sittng room leads out on to a large sunny balcony (25 sq m) with great views of the surrounding hills & valley beyond. Free WIFI, summer kitchen, lovely walks direct from the house

About Lizzie Price

I grew up near the sea in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, but have travelled and lived in quite a few interesting places, including the Sudan, Cyprus and India. I was looking for an alternative lifestyle here in the south of France, when I quite by chance stumbled upon this ancient farmhouse. It was love at first sight. This was in the year 2000. I still love it here amongst the hills of cherry orchards and vines and never cease to appreciate the beauty surrounding me. Some of my family live nearby now which is a huge bonus.

Why Lizzie Price chose Reynès

The charm and timeless quality of this old stone farmhouse with its barrel ceilings, old beams and arches, captivated me, as did the idyllic surroundings. Below the garden a small river runs and all around are hills of ever changing colour from the bright yellow mimosa in winter, to the pale cherry blossom in spring. It is a truly enchanting place. It is just 20 minutes from the Spanish border, and just 40 mins from the Costa Brava. Being in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the walking possibilities are endless. The wonderful old market town of Ceret is just a few minutes drive and here one may sit and sip cofffee in one of the many pavement cafes below the plane trees. Picasso painted beneath these same trees. Altogether a magical place to live

A wonderful location for all tastes. The idyllic situation of the farmhouse ensures a relaxed stay, with wonderful walks direct from the house, via vines and cherry orchards. Our proximity to the coast (less than half an hour) and the mountains (on our doorstep) ensures enough interest for all tastes. Wonderful mountain villages with ancient abbeys & castles to the Mediterranean coast with its picturesque villages, art galleries, sea sports, boating, fshing, or just lazing in the summer heat Hiking, biking, diving, snorkelling and much much more!

This general area offers a wide diversity of attractions. It is at the gateway to the Vallespir - a region of outstanding natural beauty in the Pyrenees-Orientales, and the most southerly valley in France. It is a region that is tree-clad with mountains, rivers, gorges, abundant wildlife, good wines and the earliest cherries in France. As well as being less than half an hour from the Mediterranean - with its miles of golden beaches - and the Spanish Costa Brava, the old market town of Ceret with its medieval arches and sleepy squares is fast becoming an important cultural centre in the region, having once been home to Picasso, Soutaine & Dali, amongst others. The Languedoc has much to offer historically, too, perhaps most noteworthy being its Templar & Cathar heritage, with many castles and Rennes Le Chateau (featured in the Da Vinci Code) within 1 & half hrs drive away. There is also a wealth of ancient abbeys and Romanesque architecture close at hand
