The flat is on the 2nd floor in “Eagle House” a house of great historical significance. Originally the headquarters of the Coastal Blockade in 1796, it was here the captured French Eagle Standard, was delivered with the news of Wellington’s victory over Napoleon.The buildings name was subsequently changed to “Eagle House” in recognition of this victory. Purchased by the present owners at the time of the latest conversion in 1999, it has been solely used by them as a retreat from a hectic business lifestyle.

This unique one bedroom flat has been tastefully furnished to a high standard and fully equipped for the perfect self catering holiday. Accessed from The Parade, and with its own private beach entrance. Although on the beach, it is still close to the centre of town, with the many individual shops, restaurants, café’s, wine bars, pubs, ice cream parlours and all other amenities.

Eagle House, nestling into the cliffs, just you and the sound of the sea, the perfect getaway.

Important events this year : The famous Royal Saint Georges Golf Course at Sandwich plays host to this years British Open Championship on July10th-17th 2011.

Broadstairs Dickens Festival Week this year is held on 18th - 24th June.

Broadstairs Folk Week 5th–12th August.

Nearby historic interests: The medieval city of Canterbury with its magnificent cathedral is about half an hour away and can be easily reached by train or bus. The cinque ports of Sandwich, Deal and Dover are all well worth a visit. Walmar and Dover Castle are open to the public throughout the summer.

  • The bedroom has a double bed, 2 comfortable armchairs, large chest of 10 drawers, small built-in wardrobe and 2 bedside cabinets. The French doors lead onto a small balcony looking out to sea and garden below, which has direct access to the beach. There is a small fold-up table and 4 chairs for use on the balcony, for an alfresco breakfast or a romantic candlelit dinner.

The living room has one comfortable double sofa bed.The dining area (able to seat 4 people) is situated in the panoramic bay window which faces out to sea with the most magnificent view in Broadstairs. The kitchen area is fully equipped with all the necessary equipment and facilities for preparing exotic meals or quick snacks. You will find tea, coffee, sugar and milk on your arrival. The French doors in the bedroom open out onto the most fabulous views of the sea, spectacular sunrises and effervescent rollers illuminated by the moon. In winter, the scene is just as exciting, enhanced by rough seas and breaking waves over the jetty. This location makes an ideal setting for romantics, artists and photographers.

The view is fantastic, the porch is private and very relaxing and the garden was lovely. We stayed a week and will gladly come back again. The accommodations are brilliant. It was a comfortable home away from home!

The icing on the cake

Broadstairs is a lovely coastal resort and Eagle House is the icing on the cake. We have recommended this apartment to numerous friends and look forward to staying there again ourselves. Beautifully positioned overlooking the beach where we spent much time sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. The apartment is comfortably furnished and extremely well equipped, with owners only too willing to help out if necessary. Highly recommended.

Views are amazing. Apartment is lovely.

I love this apartment, I've stayed here twice now and we are going back again later in the year.

It's a sunny, comfortable, well equipped and very clean apartment with fantastic views, a balcony and private access from the garden to the beach.

Always really good communication and accommodating owners.

Would recommend to everyone and I have done many times!

Wonderful holiday at "Eagle House"

The location was excellent, the apartment was virtually on the beach, was exceptionally clean and the surrounding gardens well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends or relatives and have actually booked it myself for next year already. Friends of mine visited me one of the days I was there and they were very impressed with it. I loved getting up early in the morning and sitting on the balcony having breakfast looking out to sea and the beautiful bay. The apartment is also well positioned for the local shops but it is also quiet there. I would add also that I found the shopkeepers very friendly and helpful. We had lunch out most days, the Royal Albion Hotel is just behind the apartment, and we went there a couple of times, there are some nice restaurants/pubs nearby and also a very good fish and chip restaurant and a well-known ice cream parlour called Morelli's. We had a lovely walk by the cliffs into Ramsgate and back and watched the sailing club competition one evening and also the life guards practising in the sea. I look forward very much to my holiday at "The Eagles" next year.

A stunning beach location

Anyone booking this apartment is in for a treat. The unique beach front location with uninterrupted views of the Broadstairs beach from the lounge and bedroom is a joy. Carole the owner was so friendly and accommodating and made our honeymoon something special. A real gem. We have already recommended to friends and family.

Breathtaking View

the convenience of Eagle House can't be beaten and there isn't a better view to be had. We enjoyed a glass of wine while sitting on the deck mere steps from the beach and watched the waves. Sleeping with the windows open and hearing the ocean is pure bliss. Everything you need is a short walk, including the train station. The beach is well cared for and the apartment is well furnished and includes a washing machine and drying rack. Carole was a pleasure to rent from and very timely in her responses. The apartment was an excellent value, perfect location and exceptionally clean.

Broadstairs is a unique seaside resort, totally unspoilt by the ravages of time. It does not boast noisy amusement arcades but exudes a traditional friendly charm that exists throughout the year. Built directly above the sheltered Viking Bay with beautiful sandy beach and small harbour. Its all year round appeal is due to the near proximity of many wonderful beaches. The Viking Coastal Trail is perfect for cyclists and walkers alike plus many fabulous golf courses, one being the famous Royal St Georges at Sandwich which plays host to the British Open Championship.

Broadstairs has a long association with Charles Dickens (Bleak House where Dickens conceived his book of the same name) and holds a Dickens Festival Week every year in mid June.
