About Lesley White

We are a farming family from the Scottish Borders comprising Graham,Lesley,Avril,Claire,Dizzy,Struan and not forgetting Dave the dog our 2 year old Collie cross Poodle!.We are livestock farmers and have both cattle and sheep so the entire family has to rally round.

Why Lesley White chose East Lothian

We chose this property as I have spent every summer in North Berwick over the last 54 years and regard it as a second home. Graham and I were looking for somewhere to eventually retire to and were extremely lucky when this property came up 2 years ago. After a lot of work we completed the modernisation in the spring of 2011

What makes this apartment unique

It is only necessary to walk into the property to see why we fell in love with it. Everyone who visits heads straight to the windows where the views are truly magnificent. At high tide it is almost like being in a boat looking down into the ocean and the uninterupted view of the famed Fidra sunset is unrivalled. There is a different picture from each window in the property. Almost secondary is the fact that the town is merely metres away but the only sounds heard at night are the waves.

Stunning appartment in a fantastic setting

Fidra View is the most stunning appartment, right by the harbour in North Berwick. The location couldn't be more perfect for the children who can be at the beach in minutes, and for the adults to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding sea and its islands. The property itself has been beautifully furnished, with everything you could possibly need. We felt like we were almost in the sea, in this magical haven. The owners were always accessible if we needed anything but we really didn't, as they had thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable and easy as possible. I can't wait to come back.

Simply lovely

We (family with two teenagers) had a wonderful time here. We know North Berwick and the region well, but staying in such a super location made for a special week. That plus some unexpected sunshine. The apartment is modern and airy with fantastic views on three sides - town, beach, harbour/open sea. We saw glorious sunsets and a huge thunderstorm. It's well appointed with cable TV, WiFi (needs occasional restarting), open plan kitchen with good quality equipment, comfortable sofas, quiet and comfy beds and two modern bathrooms. Walk outside and you have the harbour, turn right to one long sandy beach, left to another. The area is golf mecca - our favourite is Gullane 2 but there's golf for any standard and taste, welcoming and easy to get on. And for those not wanting to move far North Berwick is a lovely town - a range of eateries and drinkeries, a fine independent coffee roasting joint in Steampunk and beautiful beaches. The region is stunning - Gullane, Dunbar, Edinburgh further afield. We love East Lothian. Next time we come back I hope we can stay at this apartment again.

Inspirational views Stunning Apartment

Set within the harbour you couldn't be any nearer the sea and all weathers you'll want to experience the beach walks. A well equipped home from home thoughtfully designed immaculate and the owners have thought of everything you might need. We will be back!!

Perfect location and the views are unbelievable. You have 180 degree views of the water and the town from your living room. Great amenities, absolutely perfect and Lesley was a pleasure to work with. We will definitely return

Like living on a boat

We enjoed a wonderful stay in North Berwick. The apartement is the best accomodation we ever had. Locatd directly at the beach and harbour you really have the impression that you are living on a boat. We spent hours just loooking to the sea and watching the change from low water to high water. We never had such relaxing holiday. The apartement has three nice bedrooms and a kitchen where you love to cook. Apart from this North Berwick is such a beautiful village, where we took long walks on the beach. We can also recommend to go to Edinburgh and the Highlands to dicover Scotland.

New Berwick New Year

We escaped from Edinburgh for a seaside New Year. The flat is perfect in every respect for any season: warm, welcoming, wonderful views and the Owners could not have been more accommodating and responsive. The bedrooms are lovely, the living area is very spacious and comfortable and the flat has been kitted out as a home-from-home, even allowing for a baking afternoon when it was too cold for the beach.

Our four children range from fourteen to three and North Berwick has something for everyone. We are keen golfers, but there was so much to do on offer, we hardly had time to play.

We even helped save a baby seal that had become stranded on the slipway below our window - what an adventure!

North Berwick is a delightful seaside town often referred to as the 'biarritz of the north' with something for everyone. The apartment is located in the old granary at the small harbour with uninterrupted views over the sea to the island of fidra and beyond. A stunning location it is possible to look out of the window onto the sailing boats as the water laps onto the base of the building.

The a ward winning scottish seabird centre is within 100 metres of the front door. Situated within the seabird centre is an educational centre,restaurant and gift shop. From here you can arrange boat trips to view the gannets and puffins on the bass rock and the other islands.

However if you are looking for something other than stunning beaches and sailing , there are arguably some of the best links golf courses within 10 minutes of the apartment including Muirfield which will host the 2013 open golf championships situated in nearby Gullane.

North Berwick has a vibrant high street with numerous cafes and restaurants catering for every taste whether it be traditional fish and chips, fresh North Berwick lobster, or Thai, Italian, Chinese or Indian. If you are looking for that special meal chez roux at nearby Greywalls was awarded restaurant of the year 2011.

Central Edinburgh is only a 40 minute car journey from North Berwick, or if you prefer to leave the car behind, trains leave every hour from the nearby station and run straight into the centre of the city( trains leave every hour from north berwick station). A visit to Edinburgh is highly recommended especially a visit to the Edinburgh festival. However if you prefer not to leave North Berwick, festival by the sea comes to you during August and is situated 150 meters from the apartment giving you the luxury of just wandering across to the venue.

An exciting new venture situated just outside Dunbar, 14km away, is to be up and running by summer 2012. Foxlake adventures aims to provide a wakeboarding lake with plans for mountain biking at a later date.

The location of this apartment gives endless possibilities to either indulge in golf, sailing, cycling, beach combing, fishing sight seeing, shopping or if you prefer to just relax in a stunningly peaceful location.
