High Gate is the largest of our properties, the lounge has 3 three seater sofas, two arm chairs a dinning table that seats 8 and space for an additional table to be added if needed. The lounge has access to the patio area at the rear of the property. Where there are tables and seating, the patio area opens up onto a large lawn area ideal for children to play.

Delph Cottage with two ground floor bedrooms and family shower room. This makes the property disabled friendly. On the ground floor there is the kitchen and dinning area, separated by the long worktop of the U shaped kitchen, this gives a lovely space for food preparation. Fitted in the kitchen is a range cooker with two ovens, dish washer, fridge, freezer, microwave, under the stairs is a washing machine and tumble dryer, and all the other things you would expect. The dinning area has a table that seats 8, a three seat sofa bed and TV. The two bedrooms on the ground floor each has twin single beds. With a shared walk in shower room.
On the first floor there is the very large lounge, the windows have unspoiled views across to Pendle Hill. The décor has exposed beams and stone work with soft painted walls. For you comfort on a winter evening you can light the wood burning stove. The master bedroom has a king size bed, with is a en- suite bathroom with large corner bath that has a shower over.

Herd House is set in rural Lancashire, yet close to the motorway. Making this the ideal setting for those wishing to tour the wider areas of Lancashire, the Lakes, and East Yorkshire. Burnley has each year a Blues festival, and in July the Balloon festival and a walking week, Briercliffe has historic connection with the Quaker Movement some of the older properties being used as a meeting house.

For people looking for the historic castles there are Skipton and Clitheroe. Houghton Tower is a 16th century fortified manor house. Country houses include Townley and Slamesbury halls. Howarth art gallery has the largest collection of Tiffany glass in Europe. The Abbeys of Whalley and Sawley. The ruins of Wycoller Hall with it's Bronte connections, all this and more is just a short journey.

Excellent location
Could not have asked for a better location. The properties offered everything you could possibly need and so spacious! Great for a large group and surrounded by the countryside! Catherine was a great host, there for everything you needed but left you to your own devices. Will definitely be booking again. Thank you

Wonderful and accommodating
Our stay was incredible. 21 people easily accommodated. The owner is wonderful, extremely helpful and accommodating. The surrounding area is beautiful with a lot of places to explore. Plus the two dogs in the property where a great bonus. We are definitely coming again!

About the host

Host profile image
The first property was converted in 2003, and since then I have met lot of lovely people.

Why they chose this property

The properties offer space enough to get together, and space relax in peace.
for a large group to get together we are not far from M65 Motorway quite central for people coming up the country from London 4 hours Edinburg 4 hours Hull 3 hours
with good roads to most areas

What makes this property unique

The group of three properties offer one property High Gate large for family get together, but with enough space in other properties to offer private space as well. All the properties have large well proportioned rooms. We have often been commented on how comfortable the beds are , most of our mattresses are extra deep, the out door space in large enough for ball games. with seating for 24 on three tables
