About Emma Haddon and Serena Aykroyd

We are 2 sisters who live in London and West Sussex with our families. We regularly go to Cornwall to visit our other sister who lives there.

Emma Haddon and Serena Aykroyd purchased this house in 2016

Why Emma Haddon and Serena Aykroyd chose Saint Agnes

We have stayed in a neighbouring property for the past couple of years whilst on holiday and have fallen in love with St Agnes and the surrounding area. When this property came on the market we had to get it and have our own little piece of Cornwall.

What makes this house unique

The clever wooden design is beautiful and the house blends in with the surrounding countryside. We love the fact that once we are here we don't need to get into our car for anything. The beach and the coast path are on our doorstep and the village has everything you need including some excellent restaurants.

A great house with everything you could possibly need, comfortably and tastefully furnished.

  • 5 of 5

St Agnes is a beautiful place with a few lovely shops and pubs. The house is a short walk from the middle of the village and a shorter walk to the beautiful Trevaunance Cove. A great stay in a brilliantly situated house - we will be back!

The property was perfect, very modern, clean and had everything required plus a wonderful hot tub.

  • 5 of 5

Our first impression of the property was 'wow'. The location was perfect for us as you could walk to the beach and the shops, restaurants etc and the coastal path was on your doorstep.

We will definitely recommend the property and hope to return ourselves at some point.

Owner's Response: Dear Linda H Thank you for your kind review. Glad you got to enjoy the beautiful coastal walks. We also love the convenience of not having to get in your car. There are some hilly parts but the walk is always worth it for the view!

Lovely stay in St. Agnes

  • 5 of 5

For those of you who don't know St. Agnes, it is a lovely large village, with local baker, butcher, useful supermarkets, a GP, and some nice, interesting and reasonably priced gift shops. There are a few pubs and cafes, so you can eat out if you want. The main town is located away from the coast, which is a 10 minute walk to the beach.

The skyline is dotted with old tin mine chimneys, so you have some sense of history, but the coastline is the most wonderful thing. With lovely views, and many lovely viewpoints. There are gardens/seating areas which the local community have provided.

All in all it is an attractive location, and there is plenty of walking/cycling (if you can cope with hills), time to bodyboard/surf, or sitting in the sun reading.

This holiday home is lovely. Its furnished and equipped as you would want for your own holiday home: comfortable without being fussy, and themed as Cornwall should be . The living/dining/kitchen area is large enough to accommodate 12/14 people and small enough for 4 not to rattle around in. Is it quiet, with a lovely outlook, and there is a hot tub to soak in at the end of a busy day. I only worked out half way through the week there is an outside hot shower to shower off from the beach, and to wash off your wet suits. That is great.

The cottage is a walk to the town, which you can do through the back lanes, taking 10 minutes and despite the topography does not seem steep. Or a walk to the other part of the town near the coast, again 10 minutes.

The family who own it have sensibly included a damages book, so you can write in anything which gets damaged/broken. I had emailed a couple of small suggestions to the owners, who have happily received them. My deposit was returned without any problem.

I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent property, spacious and very clean and tidy.

  • 5 of 5

Property was very clean and tidy with plenty of linens, towels, etc. Excellent pre-arrival comms from the owners with clear instructions for access, etc. Plenty of space in the property for a family and balcony areas are a real bonus.

The location is at the bottom of a narrow and steep road so you need to pay attention to spot the driveway leading up to to house. The centre of St Agnes has a few shops/mini-markets for supplies.

Would stay again,

What an amazing place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

I could not fault this property or area if I tried. Me and my family had the most lovely experience staying here. The property was spotless when we arrived. Beds beautifully made, the house was kept very tidy and clean and had all of the information you could possibly need in a very useful, clear and easy to understand booklet. The owner had kindly writen out places they would recommend visiting and all of the best restaurants to try. We visited most of the restaurants in St Agnes and had lovely meals every time. We also visited lots of the local areas and beaches and had lots of fun getting to know all of the lovely local people. It was especially perfect for us as a family with young children as there are children's books and toys in the house for them to use as they please and once they had gone to bed what topped everything off was that we could relax in the hot tub on the balcony overlooking the beautiful views of St Agnes as it lights up at night. I would recommend this property to anyone and have already told all of my friends and family to get booking. Will definitely be back next year!
