Villa Myrto is located in the historic island of Chios. It stands inside a 5-acre orange and tangerine grove owned by the owner’s ancestors for over two hundred years. The structure was built by the Genovese during the 15th Century at which time Genoa occupied the island.
The property itself lies at the edge of the Campos Valley which covers several hundred acres of similar orange groves and is renowned for producing the worlds’ finest tangerines, both in aroma and taste. The entire Campos Valley is situated only a few kilometers from the City of Chios and is recognized as one of the most singularly unique sites of Greece and the Aegean Archipelago.
The house itself is a two-story stone structure with wide walls as well as unique cruciform and arc ceilings.
During 1982, it was renovated to facilitate modern day living accommodation. The large living area is 150 square meters in total. It includes two living rooms, a dining room, kitchen, WC with shower facilities and an auxiliary room accommodating the stairway, on the ground floor. The upper floor boasts three bedrooms, a bathroom and an area used as office. The bedrooms have access to a traditional veranda, ideal for relaxing, having a refreshing drink or enjoying a mouth-watering summer meal.
This traditional and unique summer property also boasts a large patio (50-60 sq. meters!) with a BBQ facility at its end. Adjacent to the patio and at a lower level stands the massive 72 sq. meter swimming pool. A bar, a WC and a storage room are also at your disposal.
This truly unique structure has it all: history, character, beauty and all the facilities to cater to your modern needs. It could literally be a museum if it wasn't a holiday home available for you to enjoy while exploring one of the most world-renowned islands sitting in the Aegean Archipelago, the island of Chios, and all the blue, green and sun-golden colours that characterise it.
