An elegant period fully modernised, ground floor garden flat in Zone 1
- English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian
I'm a film maker and consultant who has travelled extensively throughout the world both for work and pleasure. Originally from the north of England, I have lived in London for most of my working life. I can't be without coffee and chocolate and good food and, of course, good company. Africa is a magical continent and always rewards the explorer, Europe is a vast reservoir of beauty and surprises and the Alps are where I try to be as much as possible in winter time - I love skiing! I live in the very centre of one of the most wonderful cities in the world and feel very privileged to be here whenever I'm not travelling.

Our stay in London
We had a wonderful time at a great apartment in south London and the owner, Damien, was so helpful and accommodating. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat ❤️
This property is in a great location and very well maintained. The owner, Damien, is very gracious and welcoming. The location is near two Tube stops. This convenient setting makes for easy travel to other areas and neighborhoods of London. The immediate neighborhood has several coffee shops, restaurants and pubs in walking distance. The iconic river Thames is only a 5 minute walk away. The property itself is well kept by the owner. All the spaces were clean and well maintained. I can tell the owner takes pride in the property. The owner, Damien, is very engaged in welcoming us to London. He provided detailed information on how to travel to his place from the airport. In addition, he provided resources for restaurants and other venues in the neighborhood. Great experience!
London stay April 2019
i visited London April 2019 with my two daughters and wife. The stay at Damien's house was very comfortable. He was there to receive us and gave us detailed instructions. The house is very logical laid out so even without instructions, you will do fine. It felt like home away from home.
- local transportation (buses, metro) are a short 6 min walk. Access is easy to most popular destinations.
- Pret A Manger down the street is a convenient 2 min walk for morning coffee, croissants or sandwiches.
London as a city is very welcoming and the stay with Damien is icing on the cake. I would rebook at this location again.
Perfect location and amazing host
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and Damien was an excellent host. The location is fantastic. We walked most places, but the train station is close by if you prefer the train.
The property is in an amazing location! Its very clean, has everything you would need!!!
The property is perfect!! Great location, has everything you would need if travelling with your family or a group. Close to all transportation, grocery stores and restaurants. Beyond the property itself, its the host, Damien, that makes the property really worth its weight in gold! Damien is so easy to communicate with, responsive, considerate and goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay! We arrived on Christmas day, 2018, and were unaware that pretty much the whole country would be shut down on the holiday. Damien ensured we had someone to greet us on Christmas day, offered suggestions for transportation from the airport (Since all public transportation would be shut down) , and even stocked the frig. knowing we will be travelling from the states with our three kids--and no stores would be open. I wish every host was a Damien!!!! :)
Exceeded our expectations
The flat was very clean and spacious, and the owner actually even provided some "start-up" food for us when we arrived after traveling many hours. The flat smells fresh and clean-- the "non-smoking" claim is definitely true. The location is fantastic and easily walkable to the river and all transit. Also two great coffee/breakfast snack stores very close, not to mention a good pub around the corner called the Thirsty Bear.
The house is stocked with everything from coffee to toothpaste, and there's two great showers, also completely stocked with toiletries. There's even a hairdryer! Heads up-- if you run low an anything, check behind the hallway wall -- the entire thing is a hidden storage closet!
(Americans should change their expectations about the "laundry" situation: there's a great washing machine -- but the cycle takes 2-3 hours, and there's no electric dryer, just hanging racks (plenty of them) so just factor in a day or two for each load, depending on the weather!)
The lighting in the flat is really cool, you can leave on colored lights in the front window to guide you home at night! Even though it's near a lot of transit and hustle bustle, the flat is tucked away on the cutest and quietest street. It is street level so getting your luggage inside is a snap, and the keys work smoothly and easily in the locks-- no jiggling or rattling or other key tricks you might have to use at home.
THANK YOU Damien and Dario, if we could afford another trip to London (yikes!) we would absolutely stay here again.
Cheers from San Diego, California, USA!
