Bob and Sarah have lived locally for the past 40 years in a listed farmhouse and have a love of old buildings. They have two daughters and two grandchildren, all of whom love to stay at The East Gate when the opportunities arise! The grandchildren particularly enjoy staying in their "Castle"!

Warwick, the County Town of Warwickshire, is steeped in history and is easily accessible. When the opportunity arose to purchase The East Gate, it was like a dream come true for Bob and Sarah. They jumped at the chance to restore the building to its former glory. Previous to the sale the building had not been accessible to the public for hundreds of years and so they were eager to share the experience of staying in this unique property with guests from all over the world.

The East Gate, whilst being a haven of tranquillity, is ideally situated to walk to the numerous shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Standing on the battlements, either by day or in the evening, with a cup of coffee, or something stronger, one can see the town from all directions from this unique vantage point.

Loved the building, as an historian buff staying at the east gate was very appealing. The house was very comfortable and warm, we would recommend a stay at the east gate to anyone. Robert and his wife had thought of everything even a picknick basket and crystal whiskey glasses for my whiskey
Stunning 1400's residence
What a lovely place. Huge ceilings, ramparts with a 270 degree view, a very well stocked house, comfy beds, great showers, easy to walk around the town centre - I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

We were looking to stay in or around Warwick for a few days so we could visit the castle with our 2 children, 14 and 12, for the spooky Halloween week Staying in the East Gate and St. Peters Chapel was like staying in our very own castle.
This accommodation is a total credit to owners Bob and Sarah. Everything you need or might need is there, i.e. from fresh milk, orange juice, croissants, tea, coffee and all manner of cooking utensils, pots, pans even dishwasher tablets etc. There are even extra special touches like fresh flowers in the living room, sewing kit, shoe polishing station, jigsaws, games, DVDs even 3D glasses for the TV. It is situated right in the heart of Warwick only 3 min walk to castle close to all shops and restaurants. There is a car parking pass to place in your car for free parking during your stay. I would recommend anyone to stay here, the property was spotlessly clean and tidy. The owners really have thought of everything!
On arrival, Bob gave a very interesting tour of this amazing building and told a fantastic story of the buildings history dating back to the 14th century, even the furniture has a history! Its not everyday you can stay at a place like this and we can not wait to go back.
I could keep praising this amazing place all day! The bed was amazingly comfortable. The shower was like standing under a waterfall we could not find any fault with the place at all
and will 100% be booking again in the future. Can not wait to return.

This is the only place to stay in Warwick! I agree 100% with the last review. We stayed for 3 nights in this beautiful apartment. Everything you need is provided and everything you need to do is on your doorstep. We too parked up our car and did not need to use it until departure day. Robert was there to meet us on arrival and give us a tour of the building and some of the history behind it. Welcome pastry/tea/coffee/juice. The rooms were majestic and the bathrooms very modern and clean and big! We are a family of 4 (2 children 16yrs and 12yrs). The Castle is a must! We loved our stay - thank you Robert. We will recommend Eastgate to everyone and hopefully be back for another visit soon.

We like staying in usual places and thought Eastgate looked special. How right we were. What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. Bang in the centre of Warwick, this stunning historic building has been transformed into the perfect holiday home. We stayed for 3 nights and can't wait to return. The owners, Bob & Sarah, had thought of everything to make our holiday relaxing - fresh croissants, milk and orange juice on arrival as well as kitchen cupboards stocked with all the basics we needed. Dishwasher and washing machine tablets are provided as well as good quality toiletries in the gorgeous bathrooms, plenty of towels and wonderfully comfortable beds and bedding. The place is packed full of character furniture and furnishings and you will find everything you need from an abundance of kitchen equipment, China, glassware, cutlery, table linens and mats to toys, jigsaws, books, DVDs and CDs. There was nothing missing! We didn't have any children with us, but whilst investigating the cupboards we found children's plates & cups and even a baby bath! We were worried we may be cold in such an old building but it was very toasty and cosy and we didn't need the extra blankets we found in another cupboard! There was a wonderful selection of wine and an honesty box which was a lovely touch, although the shops are on your doorstep. It was fabulous to be able to park our car on the first day (car parking permits were provided free of charge) and not move it again until we left. And a treat to be able to walk to the bars and restaurants just minutes from the front door. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. You will not find better in Warwick.
A car is not necessary if staying in the town of Warwick but is recommended for travel further afield.

The local park is within a five minute walk and offers boating, crazy golf, children's play area, café and indoor swimming pool.
