About Michael Braidwood
I am in my mid 40s and have two teenage children. I work in the Club / Sports sector. The main attraction for me buying a property in the Cairngorm National Park was due to enjoying a number of great family holidays in the area. There is so much to do and definitely something for everyone. The area is so beautiful and relaxing that I find it a great place to recharge my batteries!
Michael Braidwood purchased this House in 2006
Why Michael Braidwood chose Kingussie
I bought Sneuk Head in 2006 after experiencing many enjoyable family holidays in the Cairngorm National Park. At the time we lived over seas and used the house as a relaxing retreat and to allow my children to experience the great variety of outdoor activities on offer in the area. I used the house as a family home for one year when we returned to Scotland, it was great to live in the local area and learn more about what there is to do. Unfortunately work required me to move again so we now let the house to people looking to enjoy the local area. As a family man who works in the Club and Sports industry I find the area a great place to relax and enjoy a variety of leisure pursuits.
What makes this House unique
The property feels remote, but it is very accessible being only 1 mile off the main highway (A9) and 1.5 miles from the small town of Kingussie which has a railway station. Being in the centre of the Cairngorm National Park there is so much to do golf, skiing, cycling, walking, eating!, along with many heritage and cultural sites. The house over looks the Inch marshes which is a RSPA site so bird watching comes easily!

An splendid holiday with Mediterarian weather
This was our second visit to this excellent house, clean and well equipped. Much time was spent on the decking in the sunshine enjoying the birds in the garden and the nice view. Main visits were to the Highland Wildlife Park as members and to the beach at Loch Morlich, warm enough for swimming! We saw ospreys at Loch Inch and enjoyed walks in the Abernethy forest.
Thank you very much for your kind review, I am glad you had an enjoyable 2 weeks in the Highlands. I look forward to welcoming you back again. Best regards Mike
Great property, well equipped home from home
Had a great family break away, perfect base for visiting the surrounding area.
Dear Angela, many thanks for your kind review, I am really pleased you enjoyed your stay at Sneuk Head, I look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Warm and welcoming - especially the gifts, one being Champagne, on our arrival.
We stayed over Christmas and much appreciated touches like a decorated Christmas tree. The house itself was warm, comfortable and we all fitted in immediately. As it was Christmas quite a lot of cooking was done and the kitchen had everything that we needed. It was a flexible house and accommodated 5 of us with ease. Having an en suite bedroom on the ground floor was wonderful for an elderly member of our party.
Being able to go for a walk, in lovely countryside, from the back door was an added bonus.
Any questions we had before we went to Lynchat were answered promptly and positively by Michael.
All in all we had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend this house.
Thank you Mary I am glad you had a nice time and enjoyed the house and surrounding area. Hope to welcome you back again soon.
