We bought Dudley House and the pizza place situated below in 2007 shortly after we got married. We lived there for 5 wonderful years but had to move out when we heard we were expecting our fourth child...we needed a bigger garden! We now live in a village a couple of miles away.

Lovely comfortable apartment in an ideal location on south street, which avoids climbing up the hills to so many of the holiday houses in Woolacombe. Clean, and great views from main living room. Would benefit from a few more cooking/ eating utensils, and some attention on the outside area which is of limited use at present.

Also we are planning to refurbish the roof terrace in time for the 2018 spring/summer season as I agree with you, it is under utilised at present.

Excellent location and lovely flat
The flat could not be better located for the beach and all the amenities in Woolacombe. I thought the flat had a lovely feel to it and really enjoyed our stay. The flat is spacious with two floors, which I hadn't appreciated when I booked it so a nice surprise. The terrace is useful for hanging out wetsuits and swimsuits and storing boards.

Dudley House is situated approximately 400m (a 2 minute walk) from Woolacombe Beach (voted Britain's number one beach according to Trip Advisor 2015). Woolacombe Beach is famous for its 3 miles of golden sands and is very popular amongst surfers and families for beach holidays. The village is surrounded by national trust land providing stunning coastal and countryside walks and is part of the route of the South West Coast Path.
Our nearest town is the market town of Barnstaple, 12 miles away which has supermarkets, cinema complex, a leisure centre and many other shops and tourist attractions. There are also smaller supermarkets in Braunton and Ilfracombe. Next to Woolacombe is the charming village of Mortehoe which is a perfect spot for a traditional pub lunch and then walk out to the headland to see if you can spot any seals sunbathing on the rocks.
As well as having Woolacombe Beach on our doorstep, we would highly recommend visiting the small cove of Barricane (about 10 mins walk away) for a lovely sheltered spot for shell collecting, rock climbing and best of all enjoying the beach cafe at Barricane which serves Sri Lankan curry in the evenings - simply magic! Within 10-15 minutes of drive of Woolacombe are the beaches of Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton, perfect if you fancy exploring whilst here.
