Why Julie Hayes chose Leyburn
Purchased in 2009 and spent 2 years renovating the property. Always loved the Yorkshire Dales for their stunning landscapes, history and wild life. Coverdale is a quiet Dale off Wensleydale peaceful and away from the honey pot areas. Lovely friendly village with community owned pub. (Yes we have shares)

An excellent base for a Yorkshire Dales Holiday
We have stayed in many cottages over the years and Old Hall Byre ranks among the very best. We were four adults and two dogs and stayed for a week in March. The cottage was ideal for us as it had plenty of room downstairs and an enclosed garden that we could safely leave the dogs to explore. We enjoy long walks and there are several different circular routes to take from the cottage so you don't need to use the car. The pub down the road is excellent and with Fish and Chips from a van on Thursdays what more could you ask for.
Thank you for your lovely review and for appreciating The Old Hall Byre!
Beautiful, well equipped and extremely comfortable cottage in the perfect location.
Fabulous holiday in the Old Byre. Gorgeous, well equipped and very comfortable cottage in a beautiful village. There are great walks from the doorstep and the local pub offers a well earned pint or two from very friendly landlords. Would highly recommend the Old Byre.
Exceptional, wonderfully converted barn.
We have had a fantastic week in this beautiful part of the country. Old Hall Byre is an exceptional, very comfortable, warm, clean and well equipped place to stay - we wanted for absolutely nothing! Having the garage to clean and dry off the dogs was a real bonus.
Carlton is a lovely, scenic, quiet little village with some wonderful walks over the moors revealing amazing views, which we, along with the dogs, thoroughly enjoyed. It was a great base for exploring further afield too, as well as fitting in visits to my sister in nearby Leyburn.
Julie has been an excellent host, with very quick responses and clear instructions on how to find the barn. Thank you very much and we hope to return in the future
Thank you for your lovely review. We always strive to make our beautiful Byre a real home from home and it is always rewarding to hear that our guests appreciate this!

Very comfortable and well equipped
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much so, we are planning to come back for a longer stay
Lovely barn conversion
We spent a lovely week in the barn. Very clean & all mod cons. Very handy having a downstairs bedroom for grandparents with dodgy knees. Unfortunately I left my dressing gown on the back of the bedroom door, but a short email to Julie & I received it in the post in a few days , thanks again for your prompt response Julie. Yes we would recommend this property. The football table in the garage was a big hit with the children kept them occupied for ages. Lovely places to eat within a short distance. Couldn’t ask for more.
