About Paul Bailey
Hello, I'm Paul Bailey, husband of Sara and dad to Hannah and James. As a former outdoor education teacher I have always loved Wales with all it has to offer in the natural environment and the activities available. We frequently visit here for the canoe racing at Canolfan Tryweryn.
Paul Bailey purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Paul Bailey chose Llanuwchllyn
The opportunity which arose to acquire a lovely traditional stone cottage gave me a project to renovate it to a standard which I'm sure you'll enjoy. The easy access through stunning scenery, quaintness of the cottage ,ideal location and the extra bonus of an excellent pub/restaurant next door makes it a winner. We love the rural atmosphere, warm welcome and breathtaking mountain surroundings. See the reviews by our guests who verify why our cottage ,Ty Isa, is so attractive in itself and how the central location is great for accessing all that North and Mid-Wales has to offer.
What makes this Cottage unique
We enjoy the sense of history of the cottage itself and being right in the centre of Welsh culture in Llanuwchllyn. A cosy retreat that helps you unwind so peacefully.

Absolutely delightful cosy and perfectly equipped little cottage
This was my third stay at Ty Isa, the log burner was put to good use as the weather was wet and wild. A perfectly comfortable and practically equipped retreat until the storm blew over. The attention to detail, care and consideration shown by the owner is faultless.
Llanuwchllyn is ideally situated in my opinion to explore Snowdonia. Thank you
Wow! Thanks Adrian, that's wonderful! Clearly the weather didn't adversely affect your stay, hope you will be back again! Regards, Paul.
Charming and well-equipped cottage in a beautiful location.
Thank you Anne, I'm pleased you found Ty Isa charming and indeed Snowdonia is always beautiful ! Your care in looking after the cottage was much appreciated, it was immaculate! Do come again and see Wales in another season, it's always spectacular.
The cottage was perfect, decorated to a high standard with very comfortable beds and pillows.
Paul, the owner, was extremely helpful even before we arrived at the cottage, answering all our questions by email. The wood burning stove in the sitting room made the cottage very cosy and was easy to light. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. We only cooked breakfast though as the pub, a couple of buildings away, served excellent evening meals. The cottage is situated in a small village at the southern end of Bala Lake. The area is of outstanding beauty, we have visited it many times, marvelous for walkers, cyclists or anyone who just enjoys the hills.
I would recommend this cottage to families, couples and singles. The stairs are rather steep so possibly not ideal for anyone with walking problems.
A lovely stay and we hope to come back again sometime.
Thank you Sandy, that's a thoughtful and very flattering review! Obviously all the attention to detail we took to make our little hideaway as welcoming as possible certainly cut the mustard for you and your friends. Yr Eagles is deservedly an award-winning pub, it's such as bonus having there like an extension to Ty Isa! Do come again and see what another season offers...
Thanks and regards,
