About Anne Mackintosh
My family home was in Nairn from age of 11 and we love to return there as often as we can to our now holiday home.
Anne Mackintosh purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Anne Mackintosh chose Nairn
The house was my much loved family home so when my mother moved we took the opportunity to buy the house, primarily for our own holiday use. We have twin boys who love the outdoors, our favourite places include the beach and the nearby Culbin Forest with its cycle paths. Further afield (less than an hour's drive), we love to visit Landmark the Forest Adventure Park, Highland Wildlife Park and Folk Museum and skiing in the Cairngorms. If you are looking for a holiday home from home in an attractive seaside location that offers a variety of things for you and the family to see and do, whether its a round of golf, discovering how whiskey is made, dolphin watching or exploring the beautiful scenery and historical sites, this is the place for you.
What makes this Cottage unique
This holiday home is uniquely placed in the centre of Nairn off the High Street in a quiet residential street. It has off road parking and a walled, private garden which plays host to a variety of small garden birds. There is a patio with outdoor furniture. It is particularly suited for families and as my husband has MS, we have installed an electric stair lift and have a variety of aids for a guest with poor mobility, including a portable ramp for direct wheelchair access from the street. The artisan baker, Ashers is only around the corner and you are within walking distance of all Nairn has to offer including the beach. It offers great, spacious accommodation for families and anyone with limited mobility.

Attractive stone built cottage
This cottage is a jewel; both its facilities and its prime position in the centre of the small seaside town of Nairn are ideal. Despite being so close to the centre, the house has a lovely walled garden, with off street parking and a sunken patio for alfresco eating, weather permitting.
Inside the house, the kitchen was amply provided with everything required for cooking. The open plan sitting room/ dining room is spacious and comfortable. The three double bedrooms were comfortable, the double beds particularly so. Everything was clean and well maintained.
One of the things we absolutely loved was being able to walk to the local baker, which is only a minute away from the house. They sell the most delicious bread, which we enjoyed fresh every morning,
We really enjoyed our stay, and will definitely be back. Nairn has a lot to offer to holidaymakers, and is an excellent centre for travelling to other places of interest in the surrounding area.
Many thanks for your lovely review, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay in Nairn and the House was to your satisfaction. We look forward to welcoming you again.
Lovely cosy house in great location for High Street, harbour, links and beach.
Very easy and comfortable base for our family of 6. Kitchen big enough to eat in and well-appointed bathroom. Bedrooms lovely and beds comfy. Would definitely use as a base in Nairn in the future.
Clean comfy cottage in prime location
Lovely cottage with three bright n airy bedrooms and well equipped bathroom.
We used the kitchen every day - had everything we needed. We had a lovely weekend and were able to walk everywhere. We sat in the garden for the UK Great Bird watch watch and counted 16 different varieties. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely go back
Many thanks for the review, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay in The Hollies and look forward to welcoming you back.
Staying in The Hollies, Nairn
This was excellent value for money and we had plenty space for the six of us and our small dog. The cottage was warm and comfortable, we liked the decor and it was very clean throughout. The location was ideal as it is central being just off the High St but very quiet and private. It would be lovely to use the walled garden in warmer weather. As it was we enjoyed watching the birds through the french windows. We made good use of the xbox, dvds and board games thoughtfully left in the cottage. Thoroughly recommend this property and we look forward to going back.
A really great place to stay
Once again, property spotless and ready for our visit. This property has a well equipped large kitchen and a comfortable sitting room. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom very clean and modern. Property decor through out is excellent. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to others
Many thanks for your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at The Hollies and look forward to welcoming you back.
Good but needs an upgrade
/Nice house in a good location. The decor needs an upgrade and the 2 pages of dos and donts seem over the top as does the £100 deposit.
Many thanks for your feedback. Sorry you think the 2 pages of information is over the top, we provide this for guests following feedback from guests and advice from other holiday lets. The returnable damages deposit is unfortunately common practice and we would prefer not to have to ask guests for it on arrival. The house is advertised as our family home that is child and pet friendly and sorry the decor is not to your taste. Best wishes Anne
