About this property

Family friendly, homely cottage near St Just, a short drive to amazing beaches

This charming granite cottage has been renovated and has many interesting features. The kitchen/dining room is well equipped and has steps down to the garden which is a south facing sun trap. The garden has a patio area with a pergola and climbing plants; a lawned area and flower borders. The lounge has a wood burning stove and logs are provided. There is an entrance room which is ideal for providing extra space. Upstairs there are 2 double rooms, one with views across the fields to St Just. The twin room has the same lovely view. The bathroom is upstairs. There is parking for 2 cars on the road just outside the cottage and there are a few steps from the road down to the cottage. St Just is a walk over the fields (or a very short drive) away which has a co op, interesting galleries (including the Kurt Jackson gallery), a fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway, cafes and many pubs all serving good food. On the door step is Kenidjack valley most of which is managed by the National Trust and is a great place for exploring the old tin mining area and wildlife, finishing at a rocky cove close to Cape Cornwall and within walking distance of the tin mining area where Poldark has been filmed. Going inland there are moors where there is a Bronze Age stone circle.
Sennen Beach is about 4 miles away and is a well known amazing surf beach where surf equipment can be hired. All around are fantastic beaches including Porthcurno where there is The Minack, an open air theatre overlooking the sea. There is a different beach for every day of the week!
In summer there is an open top bus to the quaint town of St. Ives and Sennen beach with the bus stop a couple of minutes walk away.

Lovely cottage at the edge of St Just
We had a lovely stay in this cute 3 bedrooms cottage. Clean, well decorated, all good. It was great! The village center is at walking distance.

Characterful cottage in great location
We had a great but too short stay in St Just. Clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage easily large enough for four adults. St Just centre with supermarket, cafes, pubs 2 minutes away by car (but why drive when you can walk there in 10 minutes across the fields?). Great walks from the cottage to Cape Cornwall and all the West Cornwall sights are within an easy drive. Thanks Ali: would love to return!

Great stay
Clean, well equipt house with lovely garden. Only downside was the car parking, on a very narrow lane. Thank you

Beautiful house in a fab location
We had such a lovely week staying in St Just. The house felt like home straight away - it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the location - you can walk from the front door in so many directions! It’s a quick trip across fields to St Just, or you can follow small roads and footpaths to Geevor tin mine, Cape Cornwall and Sennen Cove. We loved this and even though Cornwall was busy when we visited (August), it was easy to get off the beaten track and there are lots of beautiful places to discover! We would definitely recommend and we’d love to come back sometime.

My name is Ali and I'm a flower grower and gardener. I bought the cottage about 14 years ago mainly because I loved the sunny garden as I'm a keen gardener. I love the location of the house, being able to walk to St Just and down the valley to the sea. My partner and I decided to holiday let the property during the summer period as we are happy to spend time in our camper van. We renovated the cottage to a high standard and it's now lovely inside.
We own the property next door to the cottage (completely separate) where I grow and prepare flowers and we may sometimes stay in the summer house if we are not away in the van.

Why they chose this property

The cottage is in a lovely quiet location within walking distance of the sea, it has a sunny sheltered garden and is close to St Just, an interesting small town with shops, cafes, pubs and galleries.
