About Teresa Tearle
My love affair with the Isle of Wight began in 2001 following in the footsteps of my boyfriend who spent happy times on the island learning to paraglide and looking for fossils. His love of the island was infectious and more visits followed together. We bought our first cottage (2 The Granary, Brighstone) in 2004 and our holiday letting adventure began! We bought our second cottage (Brookside Cottage) in 2008 and thoroughly enjoy being able to share our cottages and the island with our holiday guests.

Why Teresa Tearle chose Brighstone
2 The Granary was our first holiday home on the Isle of Wight. We fell in love with Brighstone village and were very lucky to find the cottage. We couldn't resist it's charms and can still remember peering over the fence on a beautiful sunny day, looking at the garden and thinking "we have to have this!".

Great location for peace and quiet to relax. Cottage has everything you could need - all feels very personal, home from home. Highly recommenced.
2 The Granary is on the edge of Brighstone village making this a peaceful location yet within easy reach of the village shops and pub. We are always delighted to know our guests have enjoyed all that this characterful cottage has to offer.
Lovely cottage in beautiful village, close to the best attractions in IOW
A lovely, well equipped cottage in a delightful village
The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. It is located in a delightful, untouristy village.
Excellent - would highly recommend.
This cottage is very much a home from home. Very well equipped. Lovely hamper from the local store to start us on our holiday. Lots of local information in the house to help plan visits. Lovely walk to the village centre and surrounding area. Thank you for letting us stay in your cottage!!
Great to receive such a wonderful review. Our welcome hamper of local Isle of Wight produce is always appreciated by our guests. 2 The Granary is perfectly located on the edge of Brighstone village - a few minutes walk to the beach and to the village centre.
Warm and cosy well equipped cottage in the lovely village Brighstone.
We arrived and found the cottage easily from information supplied, we opened the gate and went into a beautiful courtyard garden, entering the cottage we found it very clean and warm, a lovely hamper with local produce was in the kitchen, a Christmas tree and card in the lounge, lovely touches. The information folder was packed with everything we needed to know and suggested places of interest, this was the first time we have ever booked direct with an owner but I can honestly say it was a good decision and I would certainly book again, the owner Theresa is so caring she even text to make sure we got home ok. Thank you Theresa.
Making our guests feel at home is very important to us. This is especially so at Christmas when we feel privileged that guests have chosen our cottage in which to spend the festive period. And of course we love to encourage people to explore our beautiful Island too!
Fantastic Isle of Wight getaway!
Fantastic! We stayed at 2 the Granary for 5 nights and couldn't have had a better experience. The house was immaculate and we received a care package in a nice basket when we arrived. Brighstone is a beautiful village and there are plenty of walks in the area. The Isle of Wight is a delightful place to visit. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a getaway on the Island!
2 The Granary is always a popular choice with Isle of Wight holidaymakers thanks to its peaceful location close to the sea and Brighstone village. Great to know that our welcome pack of Island produce is appreciated!
1/2 mile to nearest beach at Grange Farm and 5 miles to Compton – long stretches of contrasting golden and dark sands, backed by multi-coloured sandstone cliffs, with the white chalk cliffs at Freshwater in the distance. Compton is the best place on the island to go fossiling, including for dinosaur bones.
Travel by car or train to the ferry ports of Lymington (to Yarmouth), Portsmouth (to Fishbourne, Ryde or Cowes) and Southampton (to Cowes). There are bus services to Brighstone from Yarmouth (via Freshwater) and Ryde / Cowes (via Newport). The bus stop is directly outside / opposite Brighstone Village Shop.
Carisbrooke Castle, Newport, Yarmouth, Freshwater, Dimbola Lodge / Freshwater Bay, Compton Bay, Colwell Bay and Totland Bay all within 10 miles.
Further afield are the IOW Steam Railway at Havenstreet, Brading Roman Villa, theme parks for the children at Robin Hill, Blackgang and the Needles at Alum Bay.
National Trust: Needles Old Battery, Newtown Old Town Hall, Mottistone Manor Garden, Bembridge Windmill
English Heritage: Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Yarmouth Castle
The Island has many nice pubs serving local beer and good reasonably priced food. Many of these also have live entertainment. We can recommend our local, ‘The Three Bishops’. The White Mouse Inn at Chale, The Sun Inn at Hulverstone, The Waterfront restaurant in Totland, The New Inn at Shalfleet, The Crown in Shorwell are also recommended.
