About Axel Zander
We are a family (Axel, Mia, Nora and Felix) from Gothenburg in south west of Sweden. We have in the past been traveling to/through Chamonix and considering it as one of our homes away from home. Spring 2012 Nora and Felix tried downhill skiing (in Åre) for the first time and loved it. This will be our home in France when we want to leave job and school behind and have time for ourselves.
Axel Zander purchased this Apartment in 2015
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
Excellent location opposite the bus station where you can easily catch the bus to all Chamonix Valley Ski resorts and lifts. Apartment compact but has everything you need with added bonus of Wi Fi. Would definately stay again
Great location. Very small apartment.
The apartment is lovely and clean and perfectly located for the city centre and main bus terminal. It is however much smaller than it looks on the photos. Great for a couple or possibly a family with young children but if you were to stay as a group of 4 friends you would need to be extremely close!

Axel Zander Review for Chamonix, France
by Kathy Sprau
This is going to be a very mixed review. I would like a response from VRBO.
The facility was quite adequate. The view of Mt. Blanc from the balcony was lovely. Our hiking in the area included a list of our new favorite trails!
Our first request to Andrea, the facilities manager, was quickly met with toilet paper and soap arriving at our door.
When I discovered no hairdryer and requested one, I got no response …. I subsequently did not look my best hiking on those fabulous trails. ☺
Later, I emailed Andrea again, just to inquire about the cancellation policy to see if it was typical for Chamonix …. A 10 week cancellation policy! No response.
The location was convenient, however, it was across from the bus station and the bowling alley with busses and loud talking til about midnight.
Our biggest disappointment was the lack of transparency concerning the cancellation fee. We had reserved 6 nights initially, and 3 weeks before arriving, deleted two nights.
I was actually not aware of the cancellation policy, but, with all my past experience with other locations (a minimum of 20 rental experiences), I felt 3 weeks was plenty of notice. I was informed I was too late, notice was too short and that the cancellation policy was 10 weeks! Needless to say, I was shocked! I am certainly not happy, not getting a refund for the first two nights.
We were to be met at the door when we arrived, and the person meeting us never learned about our change in arrival dates and waited for us for two hours two days early … I felt badly about that.
After arrival, the next day, the cleaning lady thought we were checking out that day …. Poor communication all around.
I really would like to get those first two days refunded!
Chamonix ski holiday
Perfectly located very nice little convertible one bedroom. It is 100m from Aiguille du Midi lift and Chamonix Sud bus station is right in front of the building. I stayed with my wife and my adult son for a ski vacation. The size and the price was ideal for us.
Lovely property, suitable for 2 adults. Great view, had everything we needed. Plenty hot water for a nice bath and powerful shower.
The location couldn't have been better. It was quite, comfortable and perfect for 1 or 2 people. There was plenty of hot water. They let me in a bit early and let me stay until my bus left, which made my stay very convenient. A couple minor concerns: It appeared to have clean linens etc, but the floors were not super clean and I felt like I needed to give the tub a once over. There was also no toilet paper, so I was glad I had a Kleenex for my first trip to the WC.
