Michael Kroeger purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Michael Kroeger chose Stratford-upon-Avon
My sister lives in Stratford-upon-Avon so we decided to purchase a property nearby. We also love this part of England and enjoy the proximity to Birmingham airport for easy air travel.
What makes this Cottage unique
10-15 min walk into Stratford town centre which has super shops, restaurants, cinema and most important the theatres. We love the historical importance of this lovely town and the beautiful River Avon.

Peaceful home walking distance from town!
We really enjoyed the homey feeling and the peaceful atmosphere of this property. The walk into town was short and pleasant and can take you past the church and the river. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed for our short stay. It was really cold when we arrived in January and we had a little trouble getting the heating right even following the directions. The upstairs was considerably warmer than the ground floor. But we were still comfortable and happy in this very quiet and peaceful retreat in town!
Many thanks for your very positive review of Holly House.
I really appreciate your kind remarks despite the problems with the heating.
I've blocked all further bookings of No 71 up to the end of February so that my husband & I can attend to certain maintainence problems.
Christmas at Holly House
Holly house is in the right place for walking into Stratford, only 10 or 15 minutes walk. We were there for Christmas. Wasn't to happy about having to put up the Christmas tree, but we had a laugh doing it, the tree had seen better days! The beds were lovely and comfortable, and a great shower in the bathroom. The kitchen need a bit of updating, we were worried about the fridge door, the screws had come out of the bottom of the door and if the top screws break someone will end up with a door on their foot! Also the gas fire was disconnected, which was a shame as it would have given a nice feel at Christmas. My Husband was a engineer so he notices these things. Everything you needed was there, the house is well equipped. If you are thinking of staying in Stratford, this is a good house to stay in, so close to town centre.
Thank you for your most helpful review.
I am so sorry that you had many problems at No 71 especially the gas fire.
Just before your stay a gas company came to do the yearly certification & fixed the flue. Sadly, it is now apparent that they never reconnected the gas.
I'm so sorry about this. I've contacted them to rectify this problem.
I'm blocking all further bookings at Holly House until my husband & I stay there in mid-Feb. We'll then fix the fridge door etc.
I'm also sad to hear about the Christmas tree; my sister was meant to put it up. I'll rectify this problem for the future.
Happy New Year

Spacious, clean and well located.
Property was very clean, instructions on items were clear and helpful. Heating upstairs worked quite well and the fireplace supplemented the downstairs. Was great for a family of 2 adults and 3 small children!
