Otter Lodge - a holiday cottage that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms
Set in 17 acres of idyllic grounds with a half mile of private River Fowey frontage offering top class private salmon and trout fishing, Rivermead has some of the most spectacular scenery and whether fishing, bird watching, sightseeing, walking, golfing, cycling or just relaxing.
Otter Lodge is a completely new property for 2017, positioned right on the bank of the River Fowey. Nestled among the trees, this is quite an exceptional location with steps down on to the patio from the living room where you could literally through a stone into the water. During your stay at Rivermead it is possible to see kingfisher, otters, badgers, foxes, owls, wild deer, heron, mallards, moorhen and Canadian geese, not to mention bluetits, finches, nuthatches, robins, woodpeckers, thrushes and hovering birds of prey.
This brand new lodge is equipped with all the features you'd expect from a luxury lodge: gas central heating, sumptuous leather settees and chairs, solid oak dining furniture, Bosch appliances and a myriad of kitchen equipment, to name but a few.
The lake provides an idyllic setting for sitting out on a summer's evening, watching the setting sun, with a glass of wine perhaps. There are benches and picnic tables both outside the properties and by the river and lake and portable barbeques are available. River fishing, in season. Fishing is free on the River Fowey (please enquire as to availability). Whether an experienced fisherman or a novice, why not relax down by the water and pit your wits against nature. Who knows, perhaps you'll catch your evening meal or snap a photo to show your friends! A Ghillie can be hired by separate negotiation and booked in advance.
Ground Floor only: The large, airy living area features a superbly appointed kitchen with every amenity you could need. A solid oak dining table and chairs echo the quality that can be found throughout the lodge, as do the comfy leather settees. From the French doors you can look southwards for beautiful views of the river below. The master bedroom is stunning south-facing bedroom with king-sized 5' bed, dressing table, drawers and walk-in wardrobe. The attached en-suite bathroom features a luxurious shower. Bedroom 2 is another delightful south-facing room with king size 5' bed, spacious walk-in wardrobe, dressing table and chest of drawers. Enjoy a truly idyllic view of the river Fowey flowing majestically below your window. Bedroom 3 is a cosy twin room featuring 2 single beds, wardrobe and dressing table, with sunlight streaming in from both the south-facing and ceiling Velux windows. There is a family bathroom with large walk in shower.
Exterior: Steps from the French doors lead down to a large south-facing patio with wooden picnic table and BBQ, for your use and enjoyment. Pitch & Putt, outdoor fitness stations, boules court, croquet, cricket net, football goal post, tree swings and seasaw.

Wonderful holiday at Otter Lodge
Situated in beautiful and meticulously maintained setting, Otter Lodge offers the perfect accommodation for a family holiday. Rivermead is perfectly located for visiting many other parts of Cornwall. Kevin and Majorie were most welcoming and provided us with a wonderful hamper to start our holiday off. The lodge was immaculate and was equipped to the highest standard and catered for all of our needs.
A wonderful holiday which we will definitely repeat soon.
A wonderful break
We absolutely loved our stay at Otter Lodge. It is in a beautiful location which was extremely peaceful and well placed to get to both the north and south coasts. The owners had thought of everything, the house was brilliantly equipped and there was lots of information to hand off places to go and eat and shop etc. We loved our stay.
Lovely accommodation in a wonderful setting
My family and I recently stayed at Otter Lodge and had an amazing time. We were very lucky to have beautiful weather and had most of our meals outside on the patio, making use of the barbecue supplied. Everything in the lodge is of really good quality including the outdoor seating, supplied with cushions and a parasol. The position of the Lodge is fantastic as it is very private compared to the other properties on Rivermead. Although the other properties are nearby, Otter Lodge is a little further down by the river and is not overlooked, it also has its own little lawn. We had sun all day on the patio. The grounds are amazing too. One day it was too hot to go out so we all went down to the lake (in the grounds) and had a picnic under one of the many trees. The property was spotlessly clean with absolutely everything you need. The owners Kevin and Marjorie have thought of everything and are very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this property.
Located just off the A38 between Liskeard and Bodmin, and backing onto Bodmin Moor yet only 15mins from the picturesque coastal resorts of Looe & Polperro. Rivermead Farm is ideally located for exploring the beautiful South East region of Cornwall.
The farm location gives you the freedom to take country walks straight from your door. Bike hire can be arranged locally.

There are numerous beaches within easy driving distance, ranging from wide exposed beaches to sheltered coves. Siblyback Lake, located on the edge of Bodmin Moor nearby, offers windsurfing, sailing and kayaking.

Shopping Rivermead Farm is well situated for both coastal or inland walks, with Bodmin Moor, the Camel Trail and the South West Coast Path all easily accessible.
