We are a group of friends that purchased this derelict cottage in 2013, and have since totally renovated and restored it to a modern, quirky and beautiful seaside cottage.
Julie purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Julie chose Aberdovey
When we first visited the property back in the summer of 2013 it was overgrown, derelict and in places structurally unstable. However, we all fell in love with it because of its fantastic, south facing, position in a quiet leafy part of Aberdovey. It had such a good feel we couldn't wait to get started!
What makes this Cottage unique
Large south facing sun patio (quite unusual in this part of town to have a lot of outdoor space). Quirky character - it used to be the old golf club and was moved from its position on Aberdovey Beach to its current location early in the 20th Century.
Spacious, modern cottage with lovely scenery nearby.
Fantastic accommodation, we really enjoyed our stay in July and was lucky enough to have lovely weather so we could make use of the outside space. The cottage is very clean, modern and had everything we needed, like home from home. It has a beautiful view, overlooking the beach nearby. The furnishings are modern with welcoming finishes, like the fairy lights. It is a five minute walk to the beach which the dogs loved! We also discovered some other enjoyable walks nearby and enjoyed the view from the bandstand. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the location and were sad to leave; we would definitely love to visit again. Thank you to Julie.
Thanks Sophie for the fantastic review, and so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us at Greenhill Cottage. We hope you can stay with us again at some time and look forward to hearing from you, Julie.
The perfect property
Wonderful property spotlessly clean, comfortable, spacious but cosy too. Everything you need provided. In the perfect spot in Aberdovey. Our second time here and even better than I remembered. Will be back.
Clean and quirky
The cottage was clean and laid out well. There was everything that we needed for an enjoyable stay. A lot of thought has gone into the refurbishment of this holiday home with some interesting decor and finishing touches. Ages of occupants ranged from 6 - 65 and we all loved it. The only downside was the steps leading up to it. Fortunately we are all fit and healthy but they could be a problem for anyone with mobility difficulties. However we will definitely be back. Thank you Julie for your friendly and helpful service.
Perfect location and beautiful cottage for a family week away. Well equipped and tastefully decorated throughout. Enclosed outdoor area ideal for Large families and safe for dogs . Would highly recommend and would like to return in future.
The cottage was even better than expected; attention to detail was so impressive. Fabulous!!
As we arrived at the cottage the first thing we saw was the view which is wonderful; it was a lovely clear afternoon and we instantly felt relaxed looking at the sea. The cottage is charming and has a lovely mix of mod cons and comfy sofas; the beds were a delight and I was particularly impressed with the finishing touches, it gave the cottage such a luxurious feel. A real plus was the selection of dvd’s and board games, always helpful when children are around. The outside space is great and feels very private. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday home it ticked all the boxes for our family and we would certainly visit again.
Thank you Susan, so glad you enjoyed staying at the cottage and we would love to put you up again at some time in the future, Julie.
My family of 5 comfortably stayed at Greenhill Cottage. We found it in a beautiful location with views of the estuary. It is a beautifully decorated quirky property and was a perfect base to explore beautiful Snowdonia or just stroll down to Aberdovey beach and town.
