Known as the balcony over lake geneva thollon les memises is a very special place which sees return visitors year after year. Our 2 neighbouring apartments sleep 6 and each consists of an open plan lounge/kitchen diner with balcony...Well equipped with full electric hob, half oven, fridge, sky tv, playstation/dvd player. In the village there are several excellent restaurants and bars, 2 supermarkets, an excellent bakers and fromagerie all within walking distance.
Skiing in the village is ideal for all levels...For families and beginners there is an excellent esf ski school with english speaking instructors next to the telecabin which is 5 mins walk from the apartment. For the more adventurous the vast portes du soleil* ski region including chatel, morzine, les gets and avoriaz is only 40 minutes drive and well worth it. Thollon les memises is perfect in the summer for those who enjoy all outdoor activities and watersports on lake geneva. Evian is a 15 minute drive down the mountain where there is a weekly market.
My family bought 2 apartments next 2 each other 10 years ago when L'Ours Blanc was built. We all fell in love with the village and surrounding areas as it is a magical place for all ages both in the summer and winter.

L'Ours Blanc is in a great location less that 5 minutes walk from the ski lift and the village bars and shops. The village toboggan run is right next to our building! Being able to ski to the balcony is an added bonus at the end of the day :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the OKeefe's apartments. Perfectly located to get onto the slopes quickly and every amenity needed in the apartments themselves. The owners gave us good hints and tips for where to hire gear and eat/drink, plus you can easily buy food and wine to stay in with. A beautiful view of Lake Geneva from the top of the mountain comes included. We would recommend staying here to anyone looking for great value accommodation.
The property is located within easy reach of the ski lifts and if you want to toboggan, has a good slope right behind the apartment. Finding it was easy and the roads were nice and clear getting to it.
The apartment is small but has everything you would need. Mags was very helpful and answered all our questions on the resort and apartment. The kitchen had everything you'd need and the tiny oven/grill was actually very good and did pizzas and chips with no trouble at all.
The apartment has a large flat screen on the wall with a sky box giving English channels. This was a real treat as my mobile wasn't getting any data though my wife's phone did. There is a playstation 2 and a large selection of decent DVD's to play.
The circuit breaker box is cunningly disguised as a magnetic notice board in the living room. You need to know that to turn the water on/off.
Yeti Sports did a great ski hire service that you could leave ski's/boots in the shop so walking back to the apartment was easier. The ESF did muck us about though. We booked in Nov. for 3 X 1.5 Hr private lessons. When we got there they said the person we had booked was off that week and so they had no places. That hadn't stopped them booking others in that very morning including some friends of ours for the very same private lessons. There was no apology or email warning and essentially is was our tough luck at the desk. The single unhelpful women behind the desk did eventually sort a couple of hours when my wife refused to let them get away with it holding up probably 50 people waiting in line on the Saturday of Half Term. ESF are always good but Thollons ESF really let them down.
The doctors in the village is good and has an X-ray machine. Not a broken finger like it looked luckily. Very efficient service there. the Sherpa convenience store was well priced and had all you'd need.
We had a great stay at the apartment and skiing was good. I would say the slopes are probably best suited to those that can do red runs as the ESF can jump queues on the lower slopes and the greens are few and short.
Had a wonderful time in this ski chalet even if it was a bit tight for four with two children age 19 and 13 and all our luggage. It was clean and neat but make sure you have towels and bedding or request them (at an extra cost) as they were not included in the price. The view is remarkable and even better from the top of the gondola but the chalet is quite a way from the lake so don't be surprised. Food and restaurants are close by and that's where you'll get Wi-Fi as there is none in the chalet. Mags the owner is very helpful with good tips.
We couldn't fault this apartment. We stayed for a 3 night skiing break and the location was close to everything we needed e.g. Ski hire, lifts, restaurants, grocery shop etc. The apartment was fully equipped for self catering and was more than enough for the two of us.
Mags the owner was very helpful and maintain regular communication providing all the information we needed. Any questions we had were answered swiftly. She also gave us a great restaurant recommendation - St Nicholas and the 'Potence' which was indeed a fabulous meal that we will never forget.
We would recommend this apartment to friends and family and would go again ourselves too.

Après quelques appréhension du fait du différent de langue, la réservation s'est très bien passée avec une propriétaire anglaise disponible à distance et plus que courtoise. Un appartement fidèle au photos, équipé et accessoirisé (seul point à améliorer: le mini four et l'aspirateur fatigués). Magnifique vue sur le pic des mémises. Appartement au 1ier étage d'un immeuble très bien entretenu avec grand ascenseur. Local à ski privé à l'entrée de l'immeuble. Je recommande pour les amoureux de la montagnes (été et hiver) et des baignades en lac.
Très bel appartement, idéalement situé aux pieds des pistes, magnifique vue.
Très bien équipé ( jeux pour les enfants, vaisselle diverse, nombreux rangements,...)
il manque peut être la présence d'un micro onde
Propriétaire très sympa qui renseigne et donne de bonne indication quand à la station et les différentes activités.
Location à conseiller, d'ailleurs nous on y retournera l'année prochaine
