Lovingly refurnished by local craftsmen Inverae Cottage welcomes you to relax on a comfy sofa, surrounded by locally handmade ash, oak and yew furniture, finished with cosy Harris Tweed furnishings. The cottage is located in the beautiful village of Minard with breathtakingly beautiful views of Loch Fyne and the local mountains. With four separate outdoor seating zones in the Cottage's large landscaped garden designed to follow the rising and setting of the sun you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner and evening drinks outside, whilst listening to the soothing soundtrack of birdsong. However at times you will need to share...with red squirrel, pheasants, grouse, local deer, woodpeckers, bees and butterflies. At night the dark skies are covered with stars and the moonlight glistens on the Loch. The cottage is an ideal base for exploring this stunning part of Scotland. The Mull of Kintyre (with its long and winding road made famous by Paul McCartney), Crinan Canal, Oban, Tarbert, Arran, Bute are some of the many possible day trips from the cottage. About Craig MacLeod
Hello, my name is Craig MacLeod and this cottage was bought as an escape from city living. My wife and I manage to switch off here and as we cannot be here all the time we wish to share the cottage's "magic" with others! I am a photographer and work in both the USA and the UK. My website is craegphoto.com
Craig MacLeod purchased this Farmhouse in 2009
Why Craig MacLeod chose Inveraray
In 2009 we discovered a run down cottage hiding in an overgrown garden. Using local tradesmen and craftsmen we renovated and modernised the cottage and garden. It is a perfect location to enjoy and use as a base to tour the local area that has undoubtedly some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Peace, quiet, a place to recharge and refresh either by sitting in the garden enjoying the local wildlife and views or by using the cottage as a handy base to explore the local area. With not a sound at night a restful and refreshing night's sleep is guaranteed.

The cottage was comfortable and well appointed. The garden was very pleasant with views over the Loch. The back of the house is a lovely sun trap for the late evening sun. Our overall stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The only downside was the wood burning stoves were out of working order which was a bit disappointing though they are now back working as some workman came to fix them on what was our last day but the cottage was still kept warm with the wall heaters.
Really loved the cottage and good location. Was really cosy and had everything we needed. Was a shame the fire was out of action but were warm enough with the heaters.
Wonderful location, comfortable cottage.
Great views over Loch Fyne and into the hills beyond. The cottage was well appointed and comfortable. We were disappointed that the log burners were out of commission as this was one of the attractions of the cottage for us.
I am sorry the log burners were out of commission during your visit. Unfortunately this was outwith my control as they had to be relined for the winter to ensure they complied fully with regulations. They are back working so I hope you are able to return another time to enjoy them. Best, Craig
Very nice quiet cottage.
Enjoyed our stay and very clean. Comfy bed but it was a bit small!
Nice cottage with a wonderful view
Nice and cozy cottage. If you look for a quiet place, this is the place to be. All the facilities can be found in a 20 min. drive in Inveraray. We recommend the walk up the hill at Inveraray castle (to the watchtower) where you have a great view over Loch Fyne and Inveraray in clear weather.
Peaceful cottage in amazing location
The cottage was the perfect size and very comfortable. It was very quant yet the modern updates made it a perfect place to stay for a week. The location is great for taking various day trips. Or you can enjoy the view and the peace and quiet. Look forward to going back to this same cottage.
