OUTSIDE: We are set back off the road with a front garden with mature trees and are also are lucky enough to have a garden at the rear of the house with mature trees, rambling climbers and a croquet lawn, not to mention outdoor furniture. You can even hear Big Ben chime in the garden whilst the house itself shields street noise.
THE AREA: We love the area ! The neighbourhood is one of London's best kept secrets and they regularly shoot films on Georgian square behind us. Too central to be a suburb it is a real authentic old part of central London littered with history, and where so much of it got destroyed in WWII - our house luckily survived. Kennington is in a bubble of land on the south side of the River Thames so in 5-20mins on foot you can get to so many places. We are are just 10-15 mins walk to Westminster, Tate Britain and 20-25 mins walk National Galleries, Covent Garden, South Bank, Theatreland, The Shard, & Borough market- plus there's the West End with cafes, bars, clubs and restaurants accessible by foot, bus or taxi. We are even right next to (1min walk) to the Imperial War Museum and its lovely park. The bus network virtually goes everywhere from the Imperial war Museum and Lambeth North Tube or Waterloo are the nearest underground stations.
