About Tina Edgecombe

Tina and Gary live in a 450 year old farm house that we have extensively restored and refurbished over the past 18 years. Damson Cottage is one of our outbuildings that we converted into a luxury holiday home. We moved to Somerset with our young family in 1985 and absolutely love the area, Our boys have long flown the nest but we have no intention of leaving Ford Farm or Somerset.

Tina Edgecombe purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Tina Edgecombe chose Henton

We love Wells because of the fantastic facilities in the area. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with both Bath and Bristol within easy reach. The historic city of Wells boasts a great range of bars and restaurants as well as many places of interest. There really is something for everyone here. The area is easily accessible via the M4/M5 and the A303 and Bristol airport is only 20 minutes away.

What makes this cottage unique

The property is a tastefully converted stone barn situated in a lovely part of the world with all the mod cons that you would expect. If you are looking to ‘get away from it all’ and unwind in a really relaxing cosy environment then Damson Cottage is the place for you.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We were thrilled when we entered your lovely holiday cottage shortly before midnight on 17 June. It was and is, simply beautiful tucked away in a little village ten minutes from the beautiful city of Wells. We underestimated the time it would take to travel from North Yorkshire and thus arrived late. We hope your slumbers were not too much disturbed. You were very gracious about our late arrival. There was a lovely little treat laid out waiting for us for which we were very grateful. Our holiday week was from 17 June to 24 June 2017 and it was hot that week, very hot.

The cottage is absolutely as described in fact it is better. It is a superbly charming quiet holiday destination. Everything you could possibly need is provided. It is cosy, homely and well appointed. Tastefully decorated and comfortable accommodation for two people. Outside the split stable door is a small patio table and chairs where one can take ones meals in the fresh air and sunshine. Our car was safely parked close at hand to the front door so easy to unload and load the car. Tina and Gary, the owners, in whose grounds the cottage stands were unobtrusive. A perfect hidey hole, a perfect centre for touring around the area. Glastonbury is close at hand.

The cottage seems to exude a magical romantic aura so much so that on my birthday on the 18th just before midnight I actually popped the question and asked my darling Diane for her hand in marriage. Diane did not take long to consider and she accepted my proposal. Again the magical ambience of this magical place. I was walking on air.

Picture Perfect Country Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a very relaxing week at this well equipped property. Tina and Gary were friendly and welcoming. The cottage is furnished to a high standard with the addition of an attractive patio area at the front with colourful flowers. We had a good meal at The Pheasant Inn ( just down the road) and there are numerous places to eat in Wells.Trips to the Bishops Palace in Wells and Tyntesfield were highlights and we would recommend this cottage to any couple looking for a relaxing break.

Hi Tina,

We really enjoyed our stay in your lovely cottage. We saw a lot of south west England. Thanks for al the tips and our lovely small talks. Your cottage has a fine ambiance and I love the english interior. And it is a good base to explore lots of areas and tourist attractions such like, Lands End, the Cotswold, Stone Henge, South Wales, Bath and Wells.

By the way, thanks for the lovely plates.
