About Helen Tumbridge
Helen Tumbridge is a Television Producer, working in Light Entertainment for many years for both BBC and ITV. Gary Moyes is a freelance photographer working mainly in TV, Film and Location Photography. Many of his photographs are on display in the property. Both Helen and Gary enjoyed many childhood holidays in Cornwall, and have taken their own children to this beautiful part of the world every year for the past fourteen years. They wanted to buy a property in which to stay when they could, and to offer to other couples and families to enjoy everything they love about Cornwall. The people, the coastline, the beaches and the pubs.
Helen Tumbridge purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Helen Tumbridge chose Pendeen
We looked for months, looking at many properties in Cornwall, but Trevow was the only one that felt like home. It needed a lot of work to bring it to how you'll find it now. The entire house was gutted back to the original granite stone and then bit by bit rebuilt. We love Pendeen, the people are friendly and we've never yet seen a traffic jam. We love nearby Portheras Cross Beach; through our work we have both been to many beaches around the world, we both think this is the best by far. St Michael's Mount is just stunning at any time of day and we never tire of the thrill of walking across the causeway to reach the island. St Ives is beautiful year round, New Year's Eve is especially fantastic with everyone wandering the streets in fancy dress before fireworks at midnight.
What makes this Cottage unique
Trevow has all the character of a traditional Cornish Cottage, but now with many home comforts we feel you just can't live without. We've tried to make it as homely as possible, books, games, jigsaws and DVDs are all there to enjoy. And, even though you're about as far South West as you can possibly go, if you feel the need to stay in touch with the outside world, our wifi will allow you to. The walk in shower is fantastic, pure luxury and the wood burner creates the cosiest of living rooms to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or two.

The cottage is clean, extremely well equipped & is in a fantastic location to explore the local area.
Lovely space ... my only negative points (and this is me being picky) the bed was terribly uncomfortable so I didn’t sleep much of our trip ... there weren’t many items in the kitchen in terms of kitchen roll, surface cleaner, foil, bin bags etc so although it’s self catering we had to buy more than we thought. Other than this we had a great stay, easy check in, place was clean and tidy and we were kept informed. Thank you x
On a changeover we leave for guests, two toilet rolls per toilet, 1 kitchen roll, 2 x black bin liners, 2 x white bin liners, jay cloth, washing up sponge & 5 dishwasher tablets & full bottle of washing up liquid and liquid soap for each sink and washing basin.
We do also try to ensure there is one bottle of kitchen cleaner under the sink.
Foil we supply at Christmas and new year.
I was in the cottage the day before you arrived and I’m surprised that the above were not present when you arrived because they were there when I left. I shall talk to my house manager.
Regarding the bed, I’m so sorry that you slept badly. You are the first person to tell me that the bed was uncomfortable. It’s very difficult to suit everyone’s tastes when it comes to mattresses.
Beautiful, cosy cottage. Highly recommended!
We recently stayed at this lovely cottage for 10 nights. We were blessed with the weather and the cottage was all we had hoped for. Convenient location for so many places to visit, walks, pubs and beaches. Helen was fantastic at keeping in touch to make sure everything was ok. The house is beautifully maintained with lots of little ‘extra touches’ to make it welcoming. Thank you so much! Siobhan and nick, Yorkshire
Delighted you had such a good time. Thank you so much.
Lovely cottage in a great location
Comfortable cottage in a lovely location, near the coastal path. I really enjoyed our stay.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I do hope you’ll return again. Helen
Clean, modern and lovely location with everything you need for self catering
We had a great time in Cornwall. This was the ideal location to enjoy the peace and quiet and still be close enough to many attractions and day trips to keep us and our two young children amused.
Beautiful cottage with lots of home comforts
Such a relaxing few days away at this beautiful cottage. Perfect location to visit this part of gorgeous Cornwall.
The owner was so helpful in every way. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this cottage again. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay & seeing more of this part of Cornwall.
That’s so kind of you. So glad you had a good time. Do come again. Helen
