great place for a non driving holiday
Our experience in Arundel was amazing! The property is clean and inviting and a great place to call home. My son and I are American and Arundel was a great place to visit for 4 days. The property is literally 20 yards from a corner shop, and 50 yards from a 16th century tea room where we had a cream tea everyday. We bought pies from the local butcher and the kitchen was easy to use to reheat and prepare meals. I loved that it even had a dishwasher! With a castle, a cathedral, and a 14th century church all within a mile of the cottage we had our pick of things to do. The walks alond the river and south downs were just gorgeous. Would definitely recommend the area and the accomodation!
EXCELLENT COMFORTABLE COTTAGE
WE STAYED HERE FOR 10 NIGHTS AND COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER, HAD TIME ALLOWED, very cosy and location couldn't be better, close to beach,South Downs and Worthing for shopping.
Being in the heart of Arundel we often left the car in the parking spot ( fantastic bonus ) and went for walks around the town, river and cafes shops.
Would highly recommend this cottage the only thing it lacked was tumble drier as we stayed for 10 nights, however short stays would not have been a problem. Yes we will be back to this charming place.

Very comfortable cottage in the heart of the town yet nice and quiet
A cosy cottage in a lovely area. The cottage was warm and welcoming when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and both bedrooms had good sized en-suite rooms.
Arundel Castle was definitely worth the entrance fee and had a good cafe and restaurant.
The week went in a flash which is always a good sign of a good holiday
Very cosy and brilliant location
We really loved it and the location right in the middle of Arundle fantastic - some lovely shops and restaurants on hand
Ideal centre for short holiday
There are two reasonable size bedrooms - one with a walk-in shower, the other with a bath (and a small balcony). This worked very well for two couples. The kitchen and lounge area were clean and well-equipped - but remember to take some dishwasher tablets as there were none (consumables were not included). I imagine that international travellers might not have many of these with them!
The parking space outside was adequate and very convenient when exploring Arundel itself.
We found the whole set-up very comfortable and the wi-fi worked too. We will use this cottage again next time we are over that way. Try it!
the perfect location in a perfect village
This cottage served as the perfect base for 5 days exploring everything Arundel and the surrounding area had to offer. Easy walking distance to pubs, cafes and restaurants and the other wonderful shops in the village. Would stay again in a flash.
Thank you so much Alastair for your kind review, please come and see us again soon!
The nearest airport is 50 minutes away (Gatwick). It is not necessary to have a car to enjoy the delights of Arundel.
Arundel is about 25 minutes from Brighton and 20 minutes from Chichester. There are many places of interest in the area including the wonderful walks in the South Downs, horse racing at Goodwood and Fontwell, the archaeological wonders of Fishbourne and Bignor, great shopping and culture in Arundel and Brighton and the open sea all along the coast just 10 minutes drive away.
There is so much to do just in Arundel itself - the wonderful castle which often has special events of interest, the theatre and museum and gorgeous tea shops and antique shops that have sprung up all over town. For the younger ones there is boating Swanbourne Lake in Arundel, an outdoor Lido, mini golf and tennis and tennis in the summer. If you enjoy going further afield there is walking, riding, golfing, water sports of all types, magnificent country houses such as Petworth to be explored as well as miles of open countryside for strolls right from your door.
