About Jenna Issott
I am a Brit living in the USA. This has given me the experience of travelling both sides of the Atlantic ocean where I have discovered some unique Executive 5 star luxury rentals in Spain, UK and Costa Rica. Only the best high end 'wow' properties. I have hand picked these for your very best vacation experiences.
Jenna Issott purchased this Villa in 2014
Why Jenna Issott chose Almuñécar
This property is perfectly set at on a point on the Mediterranean so that you can enjoy 270º of world class ocean views set in scenic rock formation. The view is breathtaking on both sides of the house for sunset and sunrise! Its unique location facilitates you with maximum privacy even though it is only a short distance into the very Spanish town of La Herradura. The next town is Nerja. Aside from its location, it is in a microclimate which allows even milder temperatures than most of the locations around the Mediterranean.
What makes this Villa unique
Aside from enjoying your personal ocean view and relaxing by the pool, you can enjoy a a path that leads down to the ocean for fishing. Only walking distance down to La Herradura village you get to experience being away from it all and yet have the convenience of a village nearby to eat out, socialize and buy your amenities. There is parking inside the gets to accommodate 2 medium sized vehicles.

Amazing property with fantastic views.
What a beautiful holiday home! Clean, light and airy with all the facilities you'd need, even down to a tap for filtered drinking water. The pool was perfect for our 2 year old granddaughter, as she loved splashing about in the shallow sections. Jackie, the housekeeper, was so kind and helpful too. We've stayed in several properties in La Herradura and this was by far the best.
Ant infestation made our stay impossible
The views from the villa are indeed beautiful and exactly as pictured. Unfortunately, the villa was uninhabitable for our stay as the kitchen was infested with ants. The property manager had left us two wrapped, fresh loaves of bread on the counter. We also went to the supermarket and bought more food for our stay. When we returned and later started preparing dinner, which was all within 5 hours of our arrival, we saw that the bread and other items nearby were covered in ants. (I am not talking about a few ants; there were hundreds of ants). We thought the problem was isolated to that one location in the kitchen and spent considerable time cleaning it all up. Then we continued to make dinner and sat down to eat. We discovered that the problem had not been isolated to one part of the kitchen as the ants were also in items that had been stored on the other side of the room. In fact, two members of our party discovered ants in the food as they were eating it. We then spent another two hours cleaning the kitchen and killing ants.
Additionally, this property is advertised as a four bedroom, four bathroom villa. The fourth bedroom is actually a dirty, musty, basement type room with a two-inch mattress on the bed. In my opinion it is a stretch to call this room a bedroom. It seems to me to be a bit of false advertising.
I am sorry that my American guests were unhappy with their experience at Paradise Point. They departed from this property without waiting for the arrival of the property manager in the morning with whom they had been in communication with. Upon arrival, the property manager observed ants but only 4 during the time that she stayed there to clean up after these guests. I do not deny that ants can enter the property for which we use ant baits as a deterrent. The ant baits were promptly replaced to ensure that this situation was properly rectified. I would like to add that no ant 'infestation' was apparent. I am currently staying in the property and have not observed any.
Regarding the fourth bedroom, it is set slightly apart from the main house thus providing extra privacy. We endevour to keep this room spotless and the mattress is 8 inches, not 2 inches!
Having enjoyed four years of delighted guests and top feedback ratings, it’s very disappointing to receive these comments. However, many years in the business has taught us that no matter how hard you try, you can’t please all the people all of the time. But we will continue our policy of striving to deliver the best possible experience to each and every one of our guests.
The best Vila I’ve been to by far. Stunning views , wonderful location just simply amazing and we saw dolphins one morning , but that’s not all . Jackie our host was absolutely fantastic. There was no problem she couldn’t solve. She made me feel I’ve known her for years . Amazing personality and attitude. I’ve fallen in love with this Vila. ;o)
We loved Paradise Point, the place itself is fantastic and the views absolutely amazing! The master bedroom and ensuite are out of this world, waking up to views of the ocean, or having a bath and seeing the ocean - sublime. Outside sitting/eating places are aplenty. Great kitchen/utility facilities. Very handy for good restaurants, went to La Tartana on last night - absolutely excellent. Overall, an unforgettable holiday.
Our amazing holiday at Paradise Point
A beautifully appointed and extensive villa offering incredible views over 270 degrees. On one side is a small cove and one can observe the fish swimming in the clear waters below or the sea birds on the cliff. On the other side is a rocky outcrop from which you can fish or simply gaze across the bay at the resorts in the distance.
The villa is very well equipped; fully air conditioned; good kitchen area; large lounge and large patio areas. Outdoor pool large and warm - plenty of sun loungers - ideal for sunbathing.
Being high on the cliffs at the very tip of the promontory, even driving to the villa is exciting!
Jackie looks after the villa very well, generous welcome package on arrival.
An amazing property for the perfect relaxing break.
The villa is stunning. Well stocked kitchen and the lady, Jackie, who takes care of the villa is a wealth of local knowledge and exceedingly helpful.
The view from morning right through to the stars coming out at night is breathtaking, you even get an unspoiled view of the milky way.
A car is essential to get you out and about but the link to the motorway is really close.
We loved our stay here and will definitely return
This is a gorgeous property set on its own peninsular, thus it is surrounded with 270º of ocean views, completely private and only 20 mins walk to the beach and the village of La Herradura, or 5 mins drive. There are many chiringuito restaurants right on the beach. There is a windsurfing/sailing school, canoeing, and pedaloes. Water skiing .And, of course, swimming. Paragliding facilities are nearby. Scuba diving is very popular. Marina del Este, about 5 mins drive from the house, has an excellent diving school. You can also hire skippered yachts and motor boats for day trips.
Malaga airport is a 50 minutes, all motorway. Granada airport 1 hour. Mostly motorway. there are many car hire firms at Malaga airport. A car is recommended. One can reach Santander port by car in about 12 hours non stop. Or take a more leisurely journey with an overnight stop north of Madrid en route. From the French seaports of Calais or Dover, or via the Euro tunnel it is two full days driving or extend your trip and take in two nights in France en route.
La Herradura is a unique Spanish seaside village, defying the passage of time, it retains all the old charm so fast disappearing elsewhere. it has beach restaurants, two supermarkets, banks, newsagent, food market.. Almunecar is the closest town, 3 kilometres away with large supermarkets, a wonderful food market, large medical centre and much more. Granada is 50 mins drive and boasts the Alhambra Palace, a must see tourist attraction. Cordoba and Seville are also only a few hours drive.
La herradura enjoys an active night life in summer with several discos and the la cochera nightclub with live music at weekends. Various bars have flamenco shows or guitarists playing. This very Spanish village still maintains a close connection with its cultural roots. Andres Segovia had a house in La Herradura and every year, in November the village hosts an international Guitar Competition in the wonderful theatre at the town hall. Other classical and flamenco concerts are held in La Herradura and Almunecar. Nerja is 15 mins away and has many good boutique shops, lots of restaurants serving an international range of menus. there is live entertainment nightly in summer on the Balcon de Europa and the Caves of Nerja are well worth visiting.
