Lovely family break in Winster
We only booked Peak Cottage the day before our booking and Hilary made the process very easy.
The cottage is in the pretty village of Winster which is close to Haddon Hall, Matlock Baths, Buxton etc. It’s also in walking distance to fantastic views of the Peaks, two pubs and a well stocked local shop.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our 9yr old navigated the rise and fall of the two cottages and indoor steps with ease but probably something to be mindful of with younger children.
A beautiful cottage, well two really, joined together, which made it ideal for two couples. Winster is a charming village. Very comfortable..
Lovely cottage/cottages , smashing village
Cottage was better than expected we were impressed by the amount of thought to our requirements, ie toiletries cleaning products etc. The information supplied was very useful, ie the pubs to eat at. The heating came on to keep us cosy, much appreciated as weather during our stay was unseasonably cool at times. Regards Diane Howell
Lovely cottage in a charming village
We had a wonderful time staying at Peak Cottage. The place is lovely. It’s very comfortable and decorated with such flair. Winster is a gorgeous little village, with great walks all around it. Our kids really enjoyed all of the quirks in the cottage’s design. A real gem!
Quirky is definitely the correct description, for these tastefully fully refurbished cottages.
We stayed for 4 days and had a marvelous time, the Peak District is all we expected and the property is comfortable and surprisingly spacious. It is quirky as the planning rules have obviously insisted that the original layout is retained externally, but inside all is new and modern, but with a strange layout of steps and doors, but great fun.
We were showing an Australian the Peak District which we haven't visited ourselves for over 10 years. So we visited Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Castleton, Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock, Frogetts Edge, Hathersage and innumerable villages in between, so much to do and see.
Winster is well positioned and we had a wonderful time
Nicely done up, cosy accomodation. parking very tricky as we'd been warned. Had to run a duster over the bedheads, and a few places
