Quiet break just outside Kassiopi
After cheap flights at the end of the season, we had a good week in Kassiopi. The apartment was above Christina's one. Having always stayed in houses, we were apprehensive but needn't have been. We didn't even realise there were people on the ground floor! Having said that it was comforting to know people were around as you can be isolated on that strip of holiday villas which stand empty. The apartment was clean and everything worked. Could do with a bit of a refurb, but mainly cosmetic. The views over the bay to Sarande were amazing with some great lightning and thunderstorms one night, but also amazing sunrise and sunsets. The beaches immediately outside and nearby are shingle (small sandy bit near too). We drove down to Avlaki (few minutes) and were able to swim and snorkel in November! Kassiopi pretty much closes at the end of October so there aren't many places to eat out literally after 31 Oct. The road between Dasia and Kassiopi can be hairy to drive on, with rain and olives on the road making a great slick and everyone driving extremely fast on narrow mountain roads. There are enough places to go out and about. We were fortunate with the weather. However the island is very quiet. If you want food and restaurants, then have a day in Corfu town. There are supermarkets but not as well stocked given end of season. You just have to plan a bit more with food and shopping. We had a car with Fairdeal/Invictus (used them before) - a relaxed and cheaper local company.
