Set in the courtyard of our own home, but completely separate and private, Gadbury Cottage is cosy and very comfortable whether your choice is for a winter or summer break. It offers an ideal location to discover Oxford and the nearby attractions of Oxford City, Blenheim Palace, Shotover Park, Waterperry Gardens, Otmoor nature reserve, the Chilterns and Cotswolds Hills. Wheatley has all the facilities to meet your immediate needs - 2 foodstores, baker, coffee shop, post office, bank and choice of restaurants and pubs. The village has a long history through it's location on the main coaching route from London to Oxford - it was once descibed as the most agreeable stopping place between Beaconsfield and Woodstock. Today it's transport links are still excellent being just 2 miles from the Thornhills Park and Ride and a similar distance from the M40. There are regular bus services to Oxford and to Haddenham/Thame train station. Central London is c53 miles and Heathrow c45 miles, both have good public transport links.

About Mrs Jenny Steele
My husband and I have recently retired and now have the time to focus our attention on our two holiday cottages. Between holiday lets we spend as much time as possible in our cottage in Devon as we love the area of the South Hams. We are also delighted to enable people to enjoy the wonderful City of Oxford and surrounding area whilst staying at our cottage in Wheatley.
Mrs Jenny Steele purchased this Cottage in 1994
Why Mrs Jenny Steele chose Oxford
Proximity to Oxford and convenient village location.
What makes this Cottage unique
Easy access to the City of Oxford with its many attractions, yet set in peaceful village location with lovely countryside roundabout and excellent places to enjoy walking.
Cozy cottage quite near Oxford - Very Recommendable!
Ideal stay for visiting Oxford in a quiet place! Best going by bus to Oxford, you only need 25 minutes.
A place place for the car is directly at the house.
One Bedroom with a single bed is on the groundfloor, a kingsize bed is on the open first floor. Very nice garden on the backside of the cottage, where you can rest in the sun!
Peaceful lovely cottage
A lovely place to stay convenient for so many places. The cottage had everything you need so only had to worry about food. Lovely little private garden and even the end of Sept we had a bit of sun with a glass of wine a couple of evenings. Perfect.
Quiet Oxford Village Holiday
Most of it ok but not at all pleased to find the fridge literally in the loo.The garden was very nice and we were nice and warm
A charming cottage with character
Clean, quiet, with all necessary amenities for a great stay. Highly recommended!
Cozy, Quiet and Comfortable
Staying in Wheatley, a small village just outside Oxford, was just what the doctor ordered after the crush of crowds in the big cities. We parked our car in their car park, walked up the lane and took the bus when we wanted to go into Oxford. The cottage is nicely furnished and very comfortable. Loved the history of the property.
Very comfortable and well appointed with easy access to Oxford and surrounding countryside.
The perfect location from which to reach and see Oxford without using your car. A bus three minutes away takes you rignt into the centre of the city. We did an Inspector Morse city walking tour; the ideal way to learn about the City and see the Colleges. Wheatly is the perfect location from which to drive around delightful countryside and visit charming villages and enjoy some really good restaurants. Our hosts were most welcoming and helpful.
