Beautiful house, awesome owners, great location
The house is beautiful, very spacious and sparkling clean. This is a house with character beautifully and lovingly maintained and decorated. Raquel and her parents make it special. Raquel is absolutely lovely, speaks perfect English and provided us with lots of information about the area including shopping and sightseeing suggestions. Her parents are super nice and every day brought us some of the produce from the farm e.g. fresh figs, grapes, veggies. And of course fresh bread was delivered to hour door daily. The property is just outside of Santiago de Compostella and is very conveniently located to visit Santiago and the coast of Galicia.
Delightful house in charming grounds.
We had a wonderful stay, despite the fact that our sister had to spend a week in hospital.
Raquel and her parents were the kindest people you could wish to have as neighbours, calling the ambulance in the middle of the night for us and staying to see that all was OK with the paramedics. They were all so concerned and so kind. Their generous gifts of produce from their own grounds were delicious and so welcome. We are definitely going back.
A comfortable house with lovely hosts
We spent 5 days at the house in June. The house is very spacious with a well equipped kitchen. The location is very peaceful. The owners were very friendly and made a real fuss of our baby, they bought us eggs from their chickens which were delicious. The other half of the house is lived in by the owners and sound does travel but was not intrusive. The gardens were lovely, unfortunately we had bad weather so couldn't use the pool. It is a short drive to Santiago where there is a great market and big supermarkets. We also ate a nice lunch in the village one day. would recommend a stay here.
The beautiful surroundings, garden and the house are beautiful. That we also could use the pool was great. Our children enjoyed it. The children had a good time here. Picking the eggs with Pepe was great, playing with Alma and Runa, to swing in the garden, finding snails, for them it was really a holiday.
It was fun to see how busy Pepe is with his garden, chickens, machines .... He goes away on his Harley and returns to a tractor, plows the land, takes the tractor away and then returns to his home. Harley back. Awesome! He mows the grass, builds and repairs everything, great to see!
Beautiful flat in picturesque country setting
A great apartment a few miles outside Santiago but easy drive to town. The owner very helpful in letting us know an area to park where there was 24 hour parking garage just outside the old walls of the city, making it easy to come and go. Also, was very strategically located to taking day trips to many areas of Galicia. The owners were great, leaving fire wood every morning so we could have a fire in the fire place and keeping us supplied with fresh eggs from their chickens. There is a pool for use in warmer weather. We were a group of friends traveling together and the place was very salacious. Would be great for a family.
Lovely family holiday.
The property was in a great location only 15 mins from Santiago. Our hosts were friendly & provided us with lots of fresh fruit & veg which was greatly appreciated. The Casa has 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms which were spacious & comfortable. Downstairs was a small sitting room & a kitchen with an eating area. This was only used when the weather didn't allow us to eat outside in the BBQ area. The kitchen was well equipped & had an oven & 3 ring hob. The only observation I would make is that the fridge was too small for a family of 6. Also the small freezer area at the top didn't allow for much storage.
There was a large pool which the kids enjoyed very much. The garden was ideal for relaxing in the sun. The kids also enjoyed playing with the 2 family dogs & going for walks in the countryside in the evenings.
Santiago is a beautiful area & the cathedral well worth a visit. Hopefully we will return.
Santiago de Compostela (10 minutes drive) is a famous medieval town. Its most astonishing landmark is its cathedral, where thousands of pilgrims come to visit the tomb of Santiago Apostol. You can also enjoy a great variety of cultural activities and concerts, as well as shopping and lively evenings and late nights. You can't miss a day trip to Costa da Morte,' at the end of the world'. The main highlights are: Fisterra, The amazing views of the sea in Cabo Vilán or the cliffs in Cape of Touriñán. 45 minutes drive, you can visit A Coruña, a modern city with a beautiful old town and the most ancient Roman lighthouse still in use 'Torre de Hércules. White sandy beaches are in As Rías Baixas, 1hour drive.
