About Alexandra Crichton
Having travelled all over the world, we want to create a cottage that we ourselves would be comfortable in! We are a professional couple who have recently moved back to Scotland after spending ten years in London and New York. We personally welcome our guests and are on hand for any questions and recommendations.

Great cottage, great location
A superb cottage with stunning views. Really appreciated the complimentary wine and homemade brownies on arrival. Thanks so much Alexandra & David.
Home from Home
We recently spent a few nights at Gowry Cottage and had the loveliest of times. The accomodation was well laid out and spotlessly clean. The owners welcomed us to their comfortable home with freshly picked flowers and home baking. The views from the lounge and kitchen were stunning and the enclosed garden afforded us the perfect opportunity to soak up the sun. A rare thing this summer! We hope to return again and have passed information about this little gem to our relatives and friends.
Comfortable, well equipped cottage
Comfortable, well-equipped cottage with amazing views. Great location with so many cities in drivable distance. The owners made us really welcome.
Stunning location, Dog friendly too!
A warm welcome from our hosts, rooms were warm and welcoming, plenty of space and well equipped and a perfect retreat. The estate offers plenty to do, take your mountain bike and investigate the stunning locations.
The dogs loved it, space to run and run, family friendly, dog friendly.
With plentiful logs we were cosy and it went well with a little bottle of wine from Harrisons fine wine, bought in the nearby market town of Crieff. Crieff has lots on offer, dining, shopping and attractions it has it all.
Easy access to many of Scotlands local attractions, we spent a day in Edinburgh and Glasgow, visit to Stirling castle is recommended.
Plenty for kids, with Auchingarrich wildlife park and the Macrosty park. If you can drag yourself away form Monzie.
We will be back.
A good time had by all
Just had a wonderful weekend at Glowry Cottage with Jane and the smalls. Arrived (much to my surprise given previous Scottish jaunts elsewhere) to find Glowrie immaculate, warm , and with more hot water than you could shake a stick at (and I tested this thoroughly with a couple of three hour wallows in the company of Don Juan). After an evening in front of the log fire, energised by a good night’s sleep, and the awesome power of the Full Scottish Breakfast we headed out the backdoor of the cottage on a wonderful walk through unexpected sunshine and glorious autumn colours, via the recently renamed Haesten’s Hill (H&W loved seeing the deer so close), and the stunning chasms and waterfalls in the scurrilous (least said the better) Keltie burn glen, arriving as the sun set magnificently, for tea and cake at the castle. Next day was crazy golf at the hydro and local craft and H.E.P. tours ( I love vintage turbines with lots of dials and the smell of hot transformer oil), concluded at Glenturret Famous Grouse distillery with one of the better whiskey tasting sessions I’ve ever enjoyed. I WILL find the last bottle of the legendary black bottled Golden Jubilee special that we more or less finished, whilst “comparing” it with the barman’s favourite 30 year single malt….and various others..and some rather nice beer… I confess I badly needed a snooze in front of the roaring log fire back at Glowry afterwards. Till the next time..”Anyone for an orange?”
