About Ann Trigg

Middle age couple ( no kids).

We bought this property 6 years ago with the intention of splitting it in half and offering half the house as a holiday let as it was far too big for the two of us and we thought the location was ideal.

Finally..... we have eventually completed all the work!!

Ann Trigg purchased this house in 2017

Why Ann Trigg chose Gloucestershire

I take a great interest in interiors and enjoy creating comfortable and calming spaces to relax in. I think the property has a lot of character which incudes natural materials such as stone and wood which for me promote a feeling of well being. The views are beautiful and the location is rural and peaceful without being too isolated.

What makes this house unique

As I live next door with my partner we are very accessible if there are any problems or if anyone needs any advice about places to visit, dining out or shopping. We have sound knowledge of the local area. There are times when we not be at the property as we are frequent travellers and we have a narrow boat moored locally but we have a local lady just a phone call away if you need any assistance.

Fantastic Cottage for a relaxing stay.

  • 5 of 5

Ann met us when we arrived and walked us through every detail about the cottage and explained where everything was and how it all worked. The cottage is so nice and comfortable, you really couldn't ask for anything else. It has everything you need and the WiFi was great for our teenage son!! Ann left us some Bread, milk, butter and some biscuits which was a really nice touch. Ann and her husband gave us some really useful information about the local area but basically once we were settled in they left us to enjoy ourselves but were only next door if we needed anything. We would highly recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone. Many Thanks Neil, Linda & Sam.

France-Lynch Cottage, Stroud

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was at this exquisite cottage in the Cotswolds. The owners, Ann and Pete made us feel right at home and made every effort to ensure our stay was memorable and special. When we arrived, there was a welcome basket on the kitchen counter filled with bread, eggs and other goodies and fresh milk in the fridge. The interior is extremely cozy and inviting with beautiful stone walls and homey furnishings. You won't want to leave! The views are beautiful as well and we enjoyed taking walks along many of the scenic footpaths nearby. We would highly recommend this cottage if you want a magical experience you'll never forget. We're already planning our next trip back!

Car: recommended

Located in the beautiful largely undiscovered South Cotswolds. The cottage is located directly on the Wyesis way footpath and there are many local walks either in open country side or through cute 'honeypot' Cotswold stone villages such as Chalford, Minchinhampton and Bisley. Rodborough common is a 10 minute drive away and offers amazing walks and views over Gloucestershire and the river Seven towards Wales. The Seven bore is famous and definitely an experience to watch.

The village of France Lynch is a quiet and quaint place but the surrounding areas offer many bistro pubs ( many are olde worlde with beams and fireplaces) and restaurants the nearest one is 'The Kings Head' which is a very short walk away from the cottage and serves both lunch and evening meals daily. The nearest large towns are Cirencester and Stroud which provide full amenities and attractions such as museums and farmers markets. Nailsworth is another gorgeous small town with many boutique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Tetbury is close by and is famous for its antique shops. If you are visiting Tetbury Westonbirt Arboretum is a must. Cheltenham Spa town is approximately 30 minutes drive away and offers amazing shopping. Painwick is on route and is another attractive village famous for its Rococo gardens and pretty back streets. Gloucester Docks has recently been renovated and it is possible to go on daily boats trips after visiting the famous ' Quay's' designer shopping outlet. Bath is less than an hours drive away, the 'Forest of Dean' is also just under an hours drive away and it is possible to go Kayaking or rock climbing in the gorge or simply enjoy walking through the famous forest trail with its sculptures. It is also easy to drive to the more well known tourist areas of Bibury, Stow-on-the-wold and Moreton-on the-Marsh. ( All approx 1hr or less drive).

Local activities include walking, cycling, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, gliding and water sports at the Cotswold water park (25 mins drive). Slad valley - the inspiration for 'Cider with Rosie' is 15 minutes drive away too and again one could enjoy walking or just sitting in one of the many pubs by an open fire.
