About Lynn Lane
Lynn Lane purchased this Cottage in 1988
Why Lynn Lane chose Rutland
My husband and I first bought this property in 1988 when it was the village shop and Post Office. We successfully ran it as that until retirement in 2010 after which time we converted it to residential use, whilst still remaining in our own home adjoining The Old Post Office.
What makes this Cottage unique
The property occupies a central point within the village being close to local amenities – ie the replacement community run village shop, pub, church, etc., and yet is only a few hundred metres to open countryside with brilliant views.

Clean, quiet, very good value for money
This property is very clean and fresh, quiet, and ideally located next to the village shop. Very good value for money.
Beautiful,quiet & very clean.
Lovely to be met by the friendly owners. It was great to find chocolates, tea, coffee etc. The cottage is very clean & cosy. We will definitely come back.
Superb accommodation in a lovely location. Highly recommend.
Nice clean property and an ideal base for exploring Rutland
This property exceeded our expectations as it was more spacious and quieter than expected given the village location.
Lynn and Alan were perfect hosts and live next door if needed for anything. We found it a great place to relax and unwind.
Next door on the other side is a shop and the Black Bull pub on the corner which served good reasonably priced food (not open Mondays).
We would happily stay here again.
Thank you for your great comments- very helpful for future potential guests. Glad you enjoyed your brief stay here.
What a superb and immaculately clean cottage the Old Post Office is. Probably the nicest stay we have ever had anywhere. Lynn and Alan are the perfect hosts being close at hand and ever helpful if needed. The village shop has everything you need so please use it and there is no need to really bring that much with you. Inside the cottage there really is again everything that you need for your stay, you could move in tomorrow and not require anything whilst staying. It’s so quiet being nicely tucked away from main roads but so easy to tour the area where there is so much to do. We will be back and it could be every year it’s really that good. Thank you Lynn and Alan.
Thank you, Richard, it was a delight to have you and your family stay. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
