Chalet in Loch Shiel, Nr. Acharacle, Scottish Highlands, Scotland - The Perfect Tranquil Location To Relax And Get Away From It All
John & Izzy live and work on the farm with their young family where John’s grandparents first came to live. For many years visitors have enjoyed visiting Dalilea which was run as a guest house & caravans for many years.
Izzy purchased this Chalet in 2012
Why Izzy chose Acharacle
Dalilea has been a very popular place for visitors over the years. We are off the beaten track in a beautiful tranquil location, with bird life in abundance. It is the perfect place for exploring the local area or quite simply switching off from the hassles of modern day living. The cabin is cosy & very comfortable with a beautiful outlook towards the loch & hills.

Amazing property & location
We have just spent a week at this beautiful lodge which is a real home from home. The accommodation is on a lovely family run farm and is of a very high standard with everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect with stunning views over the countryside down to the loch. There are lots of walks either round the loch for those who like walking on the flat, or up into the mountains for those who like something a little more energetic! We have seen sea eagles, buzzards, geese, and a multitude of other types of birds and also deer who come down from the mountains in the evening to graze. Izzy & John (and Murdo the dog) are lovely hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. Thank you for sharing your beautiful lodge with us, we will definitely be back!! Really enjoyed our stay. Fantastic hosts we will be back to explore
Comfort, quiet and beauty
We were fortunate to find this property available at the last minute. It is in a gorgeous location, quite remote but accessible to innumerable places to visit and explore. The owners couldn't have been kinder and the cottage is in pristine condition and extremely comfortable. Be aware that there is no internet access (and even our EE phone service was patchy) and no TV- if you want to unplug for awhile this is the perfect location! Although we have visited Scotland and the Western Highlands several times before, we had never been to the Lochaber/Moidart region and were enchanted by it. We easily accessed the isles of Mull and Skye for day trips from Dalilea and the area just around the farm is also abounding in beauty. Although we did not manage it, the owners provide a boat for hire on Loch Shiel, which previous guests indicated was a real treat. I think we will have to come back again! We would unhesitatingly recommend this property to anyone who wants a beautiful spot to relax and unwind.
Thank you for your kind review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay here! We are so glad that got that all-important relax and re-coop time :-) We will hopefully see you again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to recommend us. Best wishes, Izzy
