We have enjoyed great time here and the garden and villa are the backdrop of very fond family memories bathed in the special golden evening light that is so peculiar to this area of Italy.
The house has thick walls that keep it fresh in the summer, and in the afternoon a pleasant breeze and the shade of the huge oak tree offer a respite from the Italian summer. The water of the swimming pool comes from a nearby well so it's also always nice and cool.
Perfect for large groups, the villa will comfortably accommodate two or even three families with children, and there is always a quiet spot for everyone to relax.
We start our day with a nice breakfast in the kitchen and often walk to Gaiole for a further coffee in one of the several cafes followed by some shopping. The Macelleria Chini is a nationwide renowned butcher that sells unique pork meat, hams and sausages. Fresh vegetables can be found at the Coop and Lo Sfizio is an excellent patisserie. You can taste and buy great Chianti wines directly from the best local producers.
Back home, we always have lunch and dinner outside: bruschetta roasted on the open fire in the kitchen or on the Weber BBQ is a regular feature but you can always book a chef to cook a special meal.
Even after almost fifty years holidaying here, we never tire of exploring surroundings: castles and wineries, local restaurants, pictoresque villages, cities full of art and also designer outlets.
