A comfortable, spacious, 200 year-old recently refurbished traditional Mallorcan stone house/Finca in a pretty quiet setting, yet very close to the town square and its amenities. The house has lovely outdoor space, with flat garden and large terrace with an array of scented flowers, herbs, figs and lemons to pick. It is ideal for relaxing and al fresco dining. Being south facing it enjoys the sun all day long. An idyllic spot. LICENCE ETV/4101

Very pleasant stay in a house that delivered quality both indoors and out
As a group of 21 adults who organised our own walking holiday, we rented 4 properties in Soller, all of similar price. The house with garden was rated by everyone as the best by a considerable margin, and was the only one that really delivered what was claimed. The garden itself is very attractive and was great for evening gatherings. The interior combines tradition with good quality modern workmanship and amenities, which contrasts with some poor quality work we saw elsewhere. One of the most important features is that, unlike the other properties, all of the rooms are good and not just some of them. The only issues to be aware of, though relatively minor, are that the property is relatively far from the town centre (15 minutes walk), and more information is needed in advance on how to reach it by car, since the whole of Soller is an impossible labyrinth of one way streets.
A Family Holiday to remember
This property was just perfect for a family holiday to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The location is just a short walk away from the centre of Soller itself where there are a few restaurants and bars. There's a fabulous Saturday market which fills the streets.
Of course there is the picturesque journey on the trams into Port Soller which is delightful although rather pricey to do on a regular basis but Port Soller is lovely with a family friendly beach and harbour.
I would thoroughly recommend a day in Palma travelling on the old train which chugs along through lemon fields and ends right in the centre of Palma.
We actually celetrated our special meal for our anniversary in the Hotel Salvia which I can't recommend strongly enough - fabulous.
This was honestly just a lovely lovely week spent in such beautiful surroundings. The bedrooms do get rather stuffy for sleeping in the nights but the house if very tastefully decorated throughout.
I booked the holiday house for one week. The internal layout of the house was nice.
However, there were many factors that made our stay at the house very disappointing.
The ceiling fans in some of the rooms were not adequete for cooling the house. There is no air conditioning. The heat was unbearable especially at night. Some of my family members had to retreat to a hotel after day one of holiday.
Serious issues related to ferral cats pooing in garden. Every morning a check of garden had to be done and offending parcels disposed of and area washed. We had young children so had to be extremley careful. Also, we saw a rat at bottom of garden. There is a small stream at back of garden fence so this may be why.
The garden is lovley but you had to careful.
The holiday house is semi detached where local communities live.
The door entrance to the holiday house to next doors family's door must be 15 feet apart. A wall separate's. On two occasions I thought the shouting and screaming from next door a murder was going on. You could hear alot of noise from both from their house and garden.
The holiday house is overlooked by higher up local housing windows, which is not a comfortable situation.
The entrance to the holiday house is via a narrow lane accessed by other local community housing. The side of the holiday house is right next to the lane, so you cannot avoid this area. Local people walked their dogs on this lane and allowed their dogs to poo along it. It seems dog owners do not pick this up even though it is so close to the side of the holiday house where windows were.
Dogs barking for long periods was another annoyance.
We had problems with one of the thermostats in shower resulting in very hot water. By the time the housekeeper got back to us we had turned hot water off. Rather then wait in for a plumber we told the housekeeper to deal with it when we leave.
On arrival, a freezer not for our use was left in an unpleasant condition. Despite requesting something be done about this nothing was done.
The local people were friendly. The Town of Soller nice. The food good and reasonably priced. The beach nice.
Would I recommend the holiday house. No.
I would say that your experience is not one that I know of which has been experienced by any of our guests to date .I do have difficulty in recognising your description of the property and its surroundings and believe them to be wholly inaccurate.
Spain is hot in July and has been especially hot this year. I would suggest that if you find the weather unbearable that you should maybe consider booking at a more temperate time of year, and maybe in a more isolated area.
The house does not advertise that it has air conditioning. The property has windows both back and front, allowing free flow of air, ceiling fans and all windows have shutters, which if used keep the house cool .You purchased an additional floor fan during your stay, for which I have thanked you and reimbursed you the cost of this and more, for your trouble .
The housekeeper did offer you support during your stay e.g. booking taxis which I understand you cancelled at the last minute and then later re- requested .
The housekeeper offered to have the shower thermostat repaired which you declined , it was repaired on the day you left.
The house has three fridges, one of which has a sign on the door requesting it not to be used as we are awaiting a new part for the freezer box.
We are disappointed that you did not have a more enjoyable time
the perfect place for a great holiday
Only a short walk from the centre of soller this traditional stone house decorated in a lovely contemporary style was great to stay in. It is exactly as described and has everything you need in making your stay so comfortable. The house is cared for by the excellent housekeeper and everything was clean and welcoming for our arrival. The new open planned kitchen and living area was great to prepare meals and be a part of the family. The bedrooms are spacious and well decorated with very comfortable beds and modern bathrooms.
We had glorious weather (except a down pour one day!) and spent time relaxing in the garden amongst the orange and lemon trees. The views to the mountains are stunning and as the sun goes down the light is magical. There are some great walks from the doorstep and we even managed the Postmans walk to Deia.
We had some lovely meals out and restaurants are close by in the town and in Port Soller. We would recommend for a special treat Hotel Salvia for both lunch and dinner - you would need to book.
For us in many ways Can Cameta is a 'home from home' and for a short time we feel very much part of the local life and at the same time enjoying excellent accommodation.
This is our third visit and have already booked for later this year and for 2016! The perfect place for a great holiday.
Best holiday house we have ever stayed in.
Better than pictures on web site . Beautiful furnishing and fittings. So nice we were loathe to leave the house and garden. Close to lovely restaurant and organic shop and lovely co op. Pleasant walk into Soller with its shops and fabulous restaurants. Best weeks holiday we have had for a long time thank you Alice and not forgetting Caty who had the house immaculate for our arrival and provided a very welcome food and wine welcome pack. We will return I think about the house often . Maureen Place . sorry meant to thank Alice for her instructions on getting from Palma airport made the journey so simple.
Thanks so much for the lovely review Maureen, we are pleased you loved the house and the area and hope to welcome you back again soon
A beautiful spot yet close to all amenities
Six of us stayed here for the second time at the beginning of June and once again we had a wonderful holiday. Alice was very helpful, as always, and arranged taxi transfers from the airport. We did not need a hire car as the house is in such a convenient location. It is just a ten minute walk to the town square with plenty of shops and restaurants on the way. We used the tram to get to Port de Soller and the little train to visit Palma. There are also good walks from the doorstep.
The weather was hot and sunny all week and we really enjoyed being able to relax in the garden in the shade of the orange and lemon trees, taking in the beautiful mountain views.
The house is very spacious and beautifully decorated with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable sofas in the living room. We also appreciated the newly refurbished bathrooms. This is a fantastic house and we would not hesitate to return again.
We would recommend Cafe Scholl and Ca'n Boqueta in Soller. The former has tasty vegetarian food, good coffee and cakes and a range of cocktails. Ca'n Boqueta on Gran Via does a good value set price three course lunch and an evening tasting menu. Also try Campo Sol in Port Soller for friendly service and great gambas! Bar Molino just round the corner serves great coffee and very reasonably priced food.
Special interest holidays:
The beach/port has facilities for boating, water sking and fishing.
Organised walks are available along with bike hire.
The town also has a tennis club and outdoor pool.
The port of Soller with its sandy beaches is about 5 mins by car or 15 mins on the tram from the town centre, the tram journey is through the valleys lush orange groves, an enjoyable experience. There are lots of bars and restaurants and the opportunity for boat trips/hire, water sports etc.
The town is approx 25 minutes from Palma airport, through the new mountain tunnel. The town has good public transport, bus and historic train to Palma and tram to the port,so hire car isn't necessary unless you wish to explore the surrounding area and villages etc.
The pretty villages of Binniarix and Fornatlux are closeby 5mins by car. Deia is 12 km and Valdemosa is 20 km. Palma is approx 30 mins by car.
Good location. The square is a short walk from the house and has lots of bars and restaurants. It has a good local indoor market for fresh fish and vegtables, with a bustling outdoor market on Saturdays. There is good shops, bakeries and deli. The port also has some good restaurants particularly good for seafood. There is a regular tram service from the town to the port, a picturesque journey. The art - noveau train station has a gallery currently with a collection of Picasso and Miro works.
